We saw this place while walking by and made a note to go back later. Very glad we did! The soup dumplings were great and service was fast. We were there a bit after lunch and it was basically empty, but food was very fresh and delicious. The pork and noodles with brown sauce were also amazing. They have hot chili oil and dumpling sauce on the tables to use as well, both were very tasty.
I've been walking past this Dim Sum spot for *years* without ever going in, so I was thrilled to finally enter and have some dinner. The menu is long but surprisingly there are only 3 soup dumpling options, while other dumpling and entree choices dominate the menu. It worked out fine, however, because the soup dumplings were delicious! I got the crab meat with pork soup dumplings and the roast pork steamed buns. The dumplings were rich, fatty, and luxurious to eat while the buns, on the other hand, were a light and airy affair. Both were delicious.
The restaurant itself is small and unassuming, tucked in the ground-level car passageway under the Pennsylvania Convention Center's flagship hotel. The place has a $10 minimum for dining in, and a $15 minimum for using a credit card to pay, both of which I easily reached with just two entrees and a water.
The service was good - nothing extremely effusive or warm, but things came out quickly and correctly - and the atmosphere was as expected: a classic Chinese-American mom and pop restaurant look.
Overall, I'm glad I finally stopped in, and I can confidently say I'd go back.
What an amazing restaurant! Food was excellent, service was quick. Our drinks never got empty.
The Peking duck was crispy and juicy. The braised pork cold was amazing.
My only complaint is trying to find parking.
Very calming decorations. The food was delicious. The sesame chicken was amazing, and the crispy tofu was delicious. Hopefully I can come back the next time I'm in Philly.
Great food! Recommend getting Steamed Crab Meat Pork Soup Dumplings, Steamed Chicken Soup Dumpling, Steamed Pork Soup Dumpling and Shanghai Pan Fried Pork Dumpling. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxing.
A MUST if you’re visiting Philly!! It was unbelievably delicious; we got the roasted duck noodles and pork noodle with an order of pork buns so if you’re looking for something to order you can’t go wrong with that!
The food was delicious. We were going to do the whole Philly Cheese Steak from somewhere, but decided to mix it up with dim sum. It was a cozy environment. The food came out rather quickly. It wasn't long wait at all. We were sat rather quickly. I ordered some appetizer dim sum, general tso chicken. My son ordered fried cheese ravioli and beef and broccoli. We were both happy and FULL! It was a good crowd as well. They have this robot that brings food from kitchen to main area for waiters to get and bring to you. That was kind of cool.
One of my favorite comfort food meals is hot and sour soup, beef pancakes and pork dumplings with dumpling sauce and hot chili oil. This is a great place to go for it.
Some of the best dim sum in the city. It’s a BYOB which is nice and there are plenty of places nearby to snag beer or a bottle of something to take with. The soup dumplings are incredible, as are the rest of the dim sum offerings like spring rolls, dumplings, and steamed dumplings. Don’t skip the entrees either, the general tso’s chicken is fantastic and the Shanghai style ribs were great too. Overall great place, a little small but easily fit a group of 6 with no reservation.
Delicious food! If you're in the mood for dim-sum, this is a perfect spot. Out of this world soup dumplings and their Shang Hai Shumai are a MUST try!
