Went here for the first time with my wife. Really delicious food, friendly service, clean, and overall would come back. She had the falafel pita and I had the shish kabob. I wish the meat was a little more tender but def not bad. We ordered a pineapple ginger smoothie that was also very fresh and tasty. Would recommend and come back. Family friendly place.

Searched high and low for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. The owners are welcoming and atmosphere is perfect. We ordered the chicken shawarma platter with Tabouli!! The portions were plentiful. The hummus is perfection . Shawarma melts in your mouth and tabouli was the perfect addition to this amazing meal. Not to mention prices are more than reasonable especially for the portions. My son also ordered the banana milk and honey smoothie !! Amazing . We will be going back.

4.5 falafel pita sandwich was boring. Lemonata without sugar was refreshing and unique. Worth coming back here again for something quick and healthy ish but not special

I only took off a star due to ordering the Zataar fries and getting regular fries for my order. My Chicken Shawarma was good, as expected, and certainly met my Mediterranean fix needs. The line at Kamala can get a little unruly, so keep an eye on the floor and follow the tape (please!). The cashier was nice and patient with me, and the meal was good. I’d go back for sure.

I wish I could give this place MORE than 5-stars! Located near a corner inside Reading Terminal Market, Kamal's is always busy but service is fast! My roommate and I are obsessed with the falafel platter. Considering the location, quantity of food, and quality, it's very reasonably priced. I blame this stall for being one of the reason's I haven't tried more places in RTM-- cause I keep coming back for their entrees and sides!
Falafel are well-seasoned, "meaty," and you get about 4-decently sized rounds with the platter. It also comes with delicately smooth hummus (hommus), tabouli (tabouleh for the algorithm), a basic chopped salad, and pita bread. The textures of everything are perfect together! You can also grab a sides like zataar fries which are PACKED with seasoning and fried with firm exteriors and soft interiors.
The staff are especially nice. There's one individual that is at the register most often (I believe their name is Hesham according to my order tickets). Every time I go, they are so friendly, welcoming, and very helpful when answering questions from anyone in line or random tourists needing directions. RTM is a hectic place for both staff and patrons, but Kamal's is always very nice to my roommate and me. Once when I visited with my partner, I was raving about how much I enjoy their food and staff without even realizing that another staff member (maybe someone working in the back?) was sitting next to me. He thanked me for my words which was so sweet!

This is now the second time I've gone here. Don't be scared if the line looks long. It's an illusion lol. Staff was friendly and very fast. Lots of options. Best smoothie in the terminal market..

For someone who swears by falafels while traveling, this place was just the perfect find at the Reading Terminal Market in Philly. Stopped by only after the hearsay of people at the counter about how much they loved the meal. Picked a Veggie Falafel wrap, it was flavorful till the last bite. The Falafels had a unique spice blend in them that elevated the flavors further! Had a bunch of other interesting stuff on the menu. Must must check out when in Philly! Go to for your falafel cravings 🤌🏼

Dropped by around 2:00 on a Thursday in March, just before the Flower Show weekend. Not very busy. I don't know why I've waited so long in my sheltered life to have a lamb shawarma, but now I want one every day. From here. Fast, friendly service. Clean, bright and good vibes from the clerk and the kitchen. Fresh, flavorful food that made me feel good about myself. What more could you want?
