Townsend - Philadelphia - Photo album

A true culinary gem! TOWNSEND in Philadelphia's East Passyunk Crossing neighborhood has left an indelible mark on my dining experience. Every aspect, from the elegantly cozy ambiance to the meticulously crafted dishes, is a testament to the chef's dedication to excellence. The menu's sophistication
Nice place to eat and treat yourself. We did take the tasting menu and every dishes were delicious! We loved the duck breast. Would recommend :)
Escargot $16 sauce would go really well with bread Foie Gras Mousse $16 was tasty. A lot of mousse for the bread. Would get this again Cote du Boeuf for two $150 ribeye was nicely done. Still some red. 32oz was a lot of meat though. Took this home to eat the next day.
Have you ever eaten a meal, and halfway through you stop and think I am so grateful for being able to eat this......no? Me either, until last night, at Townsend. It was that good. Fois grois mousse, amazing. Sweet, savory and silky, rich and addictive. Escargot: my wife said it was possibly the bes
Absolutely stunning. I brought my two elderly friends to the restaurant and the people were professional and attentive to them. My two elderly friends didn't know how to speak much English and so the waiters gave us extra time to read the menu and let me translate the menu for them. I didn't expect
My husband and I love to eat and trying new places. While we have been to Townsend before, this was the first time trying the tasting menu. For $100, you get a lot and get a lovely adventure of the taste buds. Now, it has been 5 months since we had a date night (newborns will do that), but we thorou
What a treat! Elegant and creative cocktails and dishes, we had the best time for dinner at Townsend. For food - Hamachi - really well balanced with the addition of apple and seasonings Potato gnocchi - such a flavorful dish. It had fantastic texture differences, it was such a delight on the palate.
Celebrated my birthday here with my husband over Labor Day weekend. Service was excellent and the food blew us away. Highly recommend the fluke and mouse patè. Space is cozy and intimate with a fantastic music playlist that the chef curates.
My boyfriend surprised me for New Years Eve to take me to a 7 course dinner at Townsend and it was simply delish! It was our first time and we both enjoyed. Great service and amazing flavorful food. The place is designed very simple so the focus is on the food. The best way to describe the restauran
The small room in the back creates a romantic atmosphere for any special occasion. If you tell them in advance that you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary, they will personalize your menu for that occasion, which I think is a special touch. As for the food, the flavors, variety, and presentat
Visited during restaurant week. As expected, good quality experience. Looks like they recently opened up at this location, you could almost smell the paint.. in a good way. Beef tartar and snail appetizer were really good. Enjoyed the lamb main course as well. The Alaskan char and the desserts left
My friend and I stopped by for a quick drink and some grub before heading home. The bartender was very attentive and courteous. The food and presentation was great. I look forward to coming back for dinner.
This is the best restaurant in Philadelphia! We’ve been planning to visit for quite some time, and recently asked for a baby sitter and spent our “date night” at Townsend. This was a great decision! While this was our first visit, Townsend had been on our “To-go List” for a while - so our expectat
Amazing service! Puts the staff of most restaurants in New York to shame. I have never heard servers so knowledgeable and enthusiastic without them sounding rehearsed or snobby. These guys are encouraging and have an infectious excitement about the food and drink. Their descriptions made us want to
Nice services and great food. Venison cooked well which I really recommend this dish! I like the wine source in Foie Gras, elevated the whole dish and I want more! Simple and elegant place. The venison is great, including shoulder and fillet, not only one cut of meat, worth to try and delicious!
Food was all very tasty and rich! We enjoyed the cocktails as well and the atmosphere was pleasing. Generally speaking the price per portion size is expensive but the quality is tops.
My fiancé and I are frequent customers of the bar and we love it! Barmen are super professional and love what they do! Their cocktail menu is often updated offering creative and delicious options. Barmen are always willing to customize any drink for you. The restaurant is great, with exquisite food
Well executed upscale French inspired food and excellent service. Try all the classics like steak tartare, escargot, and the cote du boeuf for 2. The souffle is also a great way to end the meal. The cocktails are also delicious. Makes for a great date night or special occasion!
