I received a gift of the luscious maple cream and a jar of the fabulous granola. I give highest marks, plus for a great company name! Thank you!
By happenstance I discovered American Spoon a couple of years ago when its catalog was sent to me. Since then I have tried a variety of its products - most of the preserves, maple syrup, fruit butters and brandied cherries. Every single product has been of the highest quality and just plain delicious! Very reminiscent of the products my mom and aunts would "put up" after the summer.
This evening I made pork cutlets, but in a pinch for time did not make my usual apple "chutney" to accompany them. Instead, I remembered I had some Sour Cherry Preserves and used that instead. It turned out to be a food marriage made in heaven! I now have a new favorite dinner menu thanks to American Spoon.
My wife teases me about being a food and wine snob, and that's probably true. My response is those are my only two indulgences in life, so why not the best? American Spoon products are not the cheapest. However, they are worth every cent (which makes them a good value) and are a tribute to America's artisanal, field to table movement. I am a fan and am spreading the word by including your products among my Christmas gifts. Thanks for working with your local famers and purveyors, and making such fine products!
Purchased the cherry margarita and bloody mary mix back in the first week of June while on a trip. Was able to sample the non-alcoholic version of the cherry maragarita in the store. Safely packaged it in my check in luggage. Just tried tonight. Wow!!! So much better with a splash of tequila and a couple Traverse City bourbon cocktail cherries. I will be doing an online order soon. Yummy! I couldn't stop after my first sip.

Our favorite shop to go to when we want to stock our pantry back in Norway or give a gift that captures our beloved northern Michigan. Recommend the triple berry conserve with the peanut butter for a delicious grilled pb&j, the margarita mix for summertime, and my personal favorite, the thimbleberry jam.
Great store and great product! So many great flavors in here. It is pretty expensive but good things usually are! The staff is friendly and welcoming.
Go for the jams and stay for the gelato. They will usually have free samples of jams/mustards/salsa to try.
Definitely one of my favorite food spots in Downtown Petoskey! I love trying different flavor combinations -- some of my top favorites are chocolate/mango passionfruit, pistachio/zabaglione, and coffee/coconut. I've filled out so many punch cards, that's how much I love it!
Handmade gelato. A bit on the expensive side, but so worth it. I got Red Raspberry and Black Raspberry and my daughter got Tart Cherry. Both were delicious and just the right balance of tart and sweet. We'll be back!
Awesome selection of jams and jelly. Honestly quite an impressive selection of other canned goods such as BBQ sauce, salsas, and margarita mixes. I really appreciate being able to sample a couple of the items.
Friendly staff with delicious sauces and preserves. Really like that they had samples out of everyone one to try. This definitely helped us to buy a few we may have not bought without trying. The staff was great with our 3 kids wanting to try everything. Didn't get annoyed at all. We bought the Jalapeño Pepper Jelly and the Pumpkin Chipotle. We have enjoyed the fresh ingredients so much that we may actually mail away for an order to get more.
Gelato, not ice cream!
This place is delicious. I sampled wild honey, spearmint chip, and peppermint chip. My friends got other flavors (pumpkin, blueberry, pineapple) which I tried as well. I love strong flavors and these were fresh, delicious and strong.
Bear in mind that gelato is denser than ice cream. It may seem like portions are smaller but the price is good for the excellent flavors.
I recommend find the gelato- some of the best in MI and great spot by the park!
