This tastes so, so awesome!!! Can you smell the smoky, salty, grilled. chicken goodness. Plus smooth, hot black beans with sweet plantains... hmmm so good. Dark green is the spicy verde sauce. Light green is tarty, tasty cucumber sauce. We got half chicken meal and split for two. Be back! Welcome to Pensacola!
What to say? This was a wonderful surprise that I found while going through Pensacola.
They serve Peruvian charcoal chicken; it was moist, tender, and juicy. The potato salad was equally as delicious, and the pickled onions were excellent.
Large portion size.
Great selection of drinks.

Pretty good chicken! We got the salad, Mac and cheese, mashed potato and yucca as our sides and loved them! The green salsa was spicy and flavorful.
Paid $43 for a family of 4 meal.
Only negative is that they couldn’t give cups of water. Only sold bottles of water.
Nandos has no chance in Pensacola with Mr. Pollo ruling the roost. The chicken is fantastic: great crispy skin, well seasoned, and juicy. The plantains are a great side option and the beans and rice are the best I've ever had. Don't forget to try the desserts as well. The alfajores are a better rendition of shortbread cookies and more people need to know about them.
The food was DELICIOUS.
The rice was ordinary. I added the garlic sauce that came with the combo to it and it was better.
The chicken was phenomenal!! Great flavor!!! I got the half chicken which came with half white and half dark and it was all great.
The Mac and cheese was unlike any I've ever had. Tastes so good it mad my tongue beat my brains out. Amazing. Really good stuff.
The food is really good. I ordered the Crema de Pollo soup. It was so good and had a lot of flavor. My husband enjoys the chicken rice bowl. The food is fresh and my husband appreciates the seasoned pico. I can't wait to try some of the other items on the food menu. They also have bottled beer for purchase.
Mr. Pollo is authentic and delectable Latin American food! They represent first-rate hospitality with the staff and the flavors of Venezuela! The charcoal chicken is absolutely amazing. We jokingly call it “crack chicken.” Flavor bursts through each bite. Always get the bigger size, trust me, you’ll eat the left overs later. All of the sides are amazing. My personal favorites are the plantains, rice and black beans, yuca, (I never enjoyed this before traveling to South America, now I love it), and all their amazing desserts. Check out the drinks from Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, etc…. You will come back. Five stars! I hope one day they will make arepas!
Tried for the first time today. I have driven by thousands of times and never stopped for lunch. Today I was able to stop and I am glad I did. I was immediately greeted with a friendly hello and welcome. I told them I had never been before and asked for suggestions. I was recommend the 1/2 chicken with 2 sides, I took the advice and had fried plantains and black beans and rice for my sides. Food was very good, and very quick. They are just around the corner from work so I will be back. Thank you.
WOW!! My husband and I came here for the first time and I took a bite of the food and it was SO SO GOOD!! I cannot recommend this place enough, the food came out so fast, it was so fresh, the staff was so nice, if I could leave more stars I would. GO HERE
This was our third visit to Mr Pollo and it has great every time. The wife and I order a whole chicken with rice and beans, plantains and a soup and always leave with leftovers.
Spit roasted chicken that is juicy , moist and flavorful. It comes with three small sauces on the side for dipping. An oil and onion, a cilantro creama and green chili sauce which I think is Serrano based. The rice and bean combo needs no condiments, it’s perfection in a cup. Plantains are caramelized and balance out the saltiness of the chicken nicely. The aguadito soup is thin but loads of flavor.
If your looking for chicken but don’t want it fried this is good place to go.
