My family and I went to the Fishing Hole for lunch on a Saturday. Having never eaten there before, we weren't quite sure what to expect, but from the time we walked in, the restaurant had a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere. The staff members were all friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. (I know it seems weird to mention that specifically, but unfortunately I've been places where the employees weren't particularly familiar with the food they were serving.) The chef introduced himself to us and was very personable. He showed a real passion for what he does and actually presented us with small samples of some of the side dishes after essentially our entire party ordered french fries as their sides. All of the side dishes I tried were quite good, especially the gumbo. We received our main courses shortly afterward and we were all impressed. The portions were ample and everything was prepared perfectly. I had the blackened red snapper and it was among the best of the snapper I've ever had. My wife had the blackened chicken tacos and was pleased with the combination of flavors and the quality of the meat. My aunt had a slightly more classically Southern dish, namely fried catfish, and said it was some of the best she'd ever had. Everything was seasoned beautifully. Prices were also quite reasonable for the type and amount of food received. The Fishing Hole is now definitely at the top of my list for the next time I want seafood. Highly recommended.
Don't let the outside fool you. Great place to go. Dress up or down and you will befine. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. Tasha our waitress was awesome. She kept checking on us to make sure our tea stayed full and we were not missing anything. The cook fried my catfish perfectly. I will visit again. Thank you for the superb service.
Way more impressive than the strip center entrance suggested. The food was good. Gumbo was creole style (okra base) vs Cajun style (flour base). We tried both the seafood and the chicken sausage gumbos and both were good. For the main i had the small fries shrimp platter and it was good. I'm not a big hush puppy fan but these were good; they would have been better with butter on them.
Kristine was our server and she did an awesome job with us and with it seems everyone else in the restaurant. That girl had some service skills - hope she's paid well.
Don't let the outside fool you! I'm so glad we decided to take a chance and eat here. One of the best alfredo sauces I've ever had! I asked for blackened tilapia on top of my fettuccine instead of chicken and it was amazing! Friends had the bacon wrapped shrimp and fish tacos, both were impressed 😊
Don’t let the location of this little gem throw you. We were driving home to Texas from Destin and needed to stop for lunch. I was a little skeptical when we pulled in to the shopping center…but wow the inside is very nicely done, staff were all very friendly, nicely dressed. The food was also very good. All 3 of our picky eaters ate all their plates. We had grouper blackened, grilled chicken, blackened trigger, couple of grilled cheese sandwiches and fixings. We would for sure stop in again! 😊
Excellent place to go for fish! Grilled or fried will not disappoint! Very tasty and delicious food! My trigger fish was grilled perfectly and seasoned perfectly. It was so delicious I ate every single bite. The turnip greens are good and I like the black beans and rice. My husband really enjoyed the fried tilapia and the House salad. Lettuce was SUPER fresh we love that! I hate ordering a salad from a restaurant and getting brown pieces of lettuce in it it getting soggy pieces of lettuce. But fishing hole salad was extremely fresh and absolutely amazing! The hush puppies were good as well! I did our order to go but looking forward to coming back and dining in the future and trying new items off the menu. Great job! We will be back
Perfectly done Southern seafood. Absolutely exquisite. Every single dish was the best version I've had of that dish in years or perhaps ever. I'm a world travelling restaurateur and I could not be more impressed. (Sorry if that sounds pompous.) Wanted to take a photo of the menu as it is such a great example of everything you are looking for in a soulful Southern kitchen. Thank you Fishing Hole for making our trip back home to Pensacola complete.
Wow, what a surprise! Do not judge this place by its location or outside appearance. This is a fine place with a great waitstaff and even better food. Had the salmon with a cream sauce and baby shrimp. The salmon was grilled to perfection served over a tasty rice. Hubs had fried oysters, perfect breading, a full dozen. Our waitress Latoya made great suggestions and knew her menu well. She was attentive though it the meal. We will definitely making this place a regular.

Have taken my wife here multiple times and it's always great.
Took a friend there yesterday that's leaving town and he wanted to try a regional favorite. Mullet. He was not disappointed and neither was I. He just kept eating and saying I can't believe that they don't eat this where I come from.
It doesn't matter if it's Mullet, oysters or some other seafood you can't go wrong eating at the Fishing Hole.
(And no I don't know the owners and they don't know me.lol)
Excellent food and service! Our server Hailey was top notch the blackened fish is so flavorful and fresh. When you walk up it’s not what you expect on inside, highly recommend! We plan to make this our go to place for events and family

I was in town to visit family and at a high recommendation for excellent sea food, we went here.
It doesn't look like much from the outside but in my opinion, that's where you can find some of the best food.
I gotta say, I wish we had a place like this where I like but you can't beat the freshness of a sea food restaurant by the beach. I'd be there as often as I could be.
I had two beers from Pensacola Bay here. Served in bottles but brought a frosted mug to pour it in.
We got the Smoked Tuna Dip as an appetizer. A very delicious sharable. Plenty to go around for 5 people. I decided to go all out and get the Seafood Basket and substituted my side for a bowl of gumbo for a few extra bucks.
My parents said it was the best gumbo and they weren't kidding. It's delicious and filling!
The seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. The salad was also very delicious and fresh. It was hard to not fill up on it! Amazing meal all around. Service was great too. If you want delicious seafood from a small local business, come here. You won't be disappointed.
My wife and I are in town for a few days and wanted to grab something close to the hotel. We saw this with some pretty decent reviews so we decided to give it a try. My my! We are so glad we did. The service was fantastic. The atmosphere was amazing and casual. The food is reasonably priced and outstanding. I feel like everything on the menu is homemade. A must must must!
