Went to the diner last night Easter Sunday around 8pm with my husband. I ordered the black diamond steak and it was delicious. I never finish my steak anywhere but this one i ate it down to the last bite. The flavor was on point and the temperature was perfection. It’s better than any steak i had at any steakhouse. The service was excellent . We had a young man as our sever ( i forgot his name ). But he was an excellent server. Very friendly and attentive. Compliments both to the server and the cook !!!!! Will def be back for that steak again. ( hopefully it’s On the regular menu )

Our dessert was great it was a peach stuffed french toast with raspberry sauce. The two main meals were just ok but still left there filled. We felt that the main dishes should have came with a side such as hash browns or cornbeef hash. Total bill was just over $24. Their staff were nice and food came in a timely manner.

Average all round. Not bad, not superior. No options for anyone with celiacs, so unless I'm having breakfast with someone random, I'll ordinarily never visit without my wife. Fantastic pricing.

Nice staff, overall food was not great but not bad either. I looked at salad bar and although it looked fresh, not too big selection, so I didnt get that. I started w soup & salad (included w my meal), soup tastes like it was from a can & salad was saturated w dressing & had hard croutons from store bought bag. Then I had the cheese ravioli & meatballs w mozzarella, there was a little less sauce and more cheese than I like and the meatballs didn't taste homemade, but all was good overall. My husband had broiled combo, said it was good, he never complains. Got piece of cake to go, it is from a bakery in New York I was told, so hoping it's a s tasty as it looks, Boston Cream Pie. If more things were home made, I would've given 4 stars (ex. croutons and meatballs are easy to make and can really elevate the food).

I've been going there all my life. I have happy memories there. My family used to meet there every Saturday morning. I really miss that a lot most have gone to heaven, and I moved to West Virginia. But I try my best to always go to pennsburg diner when I'm in town / in Pennsylvania. They've got the best food. Great service. And I asked if I could buy a box of chicken croquettes cuz I cannot find them in West Virginia, and they put aside a bunch of them Frozen for me to take home. That's what I call service! I think breakfast is my favorite meal I get there. They make home fries where the potatoes are sliced flat they are not they are not cubed or partially fried they are definitely fried and taste fantastic! Also it's hard for me to get good scrapple in West Virginia so I make sure I always get it when I'm at their diner. Hopefully this diner will continue for many generations so more people can enjoy it!

If I could give them one star I would. Last week my family and I went in around 6:30 for dinner. We ordered mainly breakfast and one patty melt so our order was very simple. We waited for over an hour and a half to receive our food. After asking several times where it was the server just kept apologizing but our food still never arrived. Eventually the two younger children we had started to act out and we requested to have their grilled cheese and pancakes brought out as soon as possible. We were told that wasn’t possible as they have a new system which as a waitress I know is not correct. One of my family members finally approached the the front counter to ask for anyone else to help us. As at this point we wanted to leave and already saw two tables get full dinner meals, eat, and then leave before we even got the two bagels we ordered. All of a sudden the food comes out completely cold and they forgot the pancakes for my small child. We requested the pancakes and weirdly they came out in 2 minutes? We couldn’t even finish the food and had to get it boxed due to the children’s bedtime and they had already had enough. When we spoke with the owner she was nothing but rude. She blamed her server and the new system as that was the customers fault. She also said they were very busy and we were a large table. The table had two children and three adults. Maybe 6 tables in the whole restaurant and at least 5 servers so clearly they were not busy. She took off the pancakes as “they forgot them”. However I know from experience the whole meal was never made and we were forgotten about. We were nothing but polite and patient. We asked for a refund and she was extremely unprofessional and would not allow a refund. We paid and will never be coming back. The employee at the front counter even said she saw us sitting for so long and how she would never be that patient. I would never have asked for a refund if I didn’t think we deserved it. But an hour for cold eggs and bagels is ridiculous. The owner did not even apologize and just kept shrugging her shoulders. I will definitely be letting other people know about my experience here.
As I saw the owner answered back just want to be clear this was not Father’s Day or any other holiday. It was a week day night. And they didn’t take my family talking to them and explaining the issue seriously at all that night. The owner literally ignored us even after another waitress told them that it was ridiculous how long we waited and even they would have left if that was then. The owner just kept shrugging her shoulders and making a disgusted face.

Lunch was great today, service was great, one server seemed to be a little disgruntled then I over heard the girls talking about how they wont be getting their credit card tips when their shift is over... didnt hear much more and tried to mind my business, but its understandable that they may have been upset. It's a diner, why not deal in all cash anyway... upset servers cant be good for any restuarant business. I'll just make sure to leave a cash only tip when I return, as all patrons should consider doing.
