This is one of my favorite places to eat. On sundays they have live music outside on the water. The environment is amazing. The food was exquisite. The service was top notch. Tori was a great waitress for us.
We got the chowder soup, the shrimp appetizer. They were both very tasty. I got the mushroom truffle oil ravioli with shrimp. My husband got the perch dinner. Both were so incredibly tasty.
Highly recommend this place!
Had a wonderful dinner this past Friday, celebrated our anniversary, beautiful evening, sat out on the patio, service was exceptional, we started with a special morel mushroom puff pastry appetizer we shared, so tasty, the summer salad with plump dried cherries and glazed pecans was great, my wife had the perch and I got the Parmesan crusted walleye with an upgrade to risotto, both excellent.
Best place for steak in northern Michigan. Steak au pourve and the mussels are highly recommended. Beautiful view of Douglas Lake. Drinks are amazing. You definitely get what you pay for. Reservations recommended. Also if you are craving ribs they are fall off the bone good.
We drove 450 mi round trip just to go there for dinner.
Amazing unique and fresh food, and they also seem to have kept prices and check compared to everybody else.
Service was excellent as was the food. They had a surf and turf special that included a 4 oz filet and we hardly ever order a steak that small simply because they generally don't get cooked the way that we want compared to a larger steak. I brought it up to the waitress she told me not to worry and it was fantastic.
We went with friend's for a Birthday dinner. So glad we did because it was fantastic!
The food, drinks and server (Carl) made it worth every penny and I had left overs for lunch that were just as good. I had the ravioli w/ chicken, French onion soup and death by chocolate martini... wish I'd taken pictures because it tasted as good as it looked. Definitely looking forward to going again!
Classic northern Michigan dining in a beautiful setting. Great wine selection by the glass. Solid pour on the booze.
Lovely venue for a great dinner.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere is very nice.
I had the perch which was delicious and highly recommended.
I would have given them 5* but the service was a little off - our waitress forgot to bring a glass of wine someone ordered, and also forgot my water.
It wasn’t very busy when we were. The waitress was friendly.
Wife and I both agree this was the best dining experience we’ve ever had. Great good, outstanding service. With a reservation we were seated instantly. Make a yearly trip to aloha state park. This will definitely be a must every year!! I’d even be interested in making the 4 hour drive from downstate just to come here.
My husband and I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant last Saturday evening. We each had a cocktail, french onion soup, steak, mashed potatoes and creme brulee. Everything tasted amazing. Our waitress Tammy was so kind and caring. She really went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted. Even though we don't live close, we will definitely be back!
By far, I had the best food ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ that I’ve had in a long time at the Douglas Lake Bar & Steakhouse! Absolutely 🔝 notch! Friends from Mullet Lake took us to this hidden gem in Pellston and the only downfall is the location of the restaurant, in that I live so far away to visit it frequently. How would I describe this restaurant? ✔️Beautiful location✔️Rustic decor, ✔️Lively atmosphere✔️Flavourful and appealing food and ✔️Exceptional service! I had the seafood 🦞 chowder and lake perch 🐟 which was to die for and I ate everything and I mean everything on my plate. I wouldn’t even share mine with my friends. We finished off our meal with homemade carrot 🥕 cake 🍰 and cream brûlée. The bread they brought to the table was tasty 😋 too! Don’t take my word for it…try this place out for yourselves! They are open Wednesday-Sunday from 5 pm to 9 pm.
