Pellana

I had heard great things about this place and was excited to finally visit. Sadly, my visit wasn’t as good as I had hoped. We sat at the bar and had great drinks and service from Jacob. The crab cake was pretty good. We got the tenderloin (very tender and delicious) which normally comes with truffle risotto but there was a lobster risotto special which we asked for instead (obviously an up charge). It was terrible! It was so salty we couldn’t eat it and if there was lobster in it, it was minimal. Like barely any at all. The bartender was nice enough to replace it with a regular risotto. Again, way too salty. The onion strings were delicious. The best part of the meal was the strawberry shortcake. One of the best I've ever had and I’ll be back for that alone! Super expensive, which is fine if the food matches up. Unfortunately it did not in this case. I’ll definitely give it another chance.

This place has amazing food!! When you pay the prices they charge it’s fantastic to get the high quality product. The filet was one if the best I’ve ever had. The Oscar topping was fantastic. The blackened tuna was buttery and wonderful! Sides were cooked perfectly. Highly recommend for special events or when you are looking for high end food.

Had an amazing valentine’s day dinner. Food and service was absolutely amazing! I would definitely recommend for a romantic night. Since it was valentine’s day, every girl at their table was given a rose at the end of their dinner and they all looked so happy. I was looking forward to get mine and take a photo of it to have memory of a great night. But unfortunately I was sadden that i did not receive a rose. I guess our sever didn’t like us since he continued to give roses to his other table and kept looking back at us even after bill was paid and was given a great tip for his wonderful service…

The Clam chowder was soo good, definitely in my top 5 in all of the New England. Very impressed, very impressed, the texture of the clams was amazingly authentic and robust. The Scallop Rissito " oh my God", seared to perfection so tender u could use a butter knife. The rissoto is my favorite of any that I have had around as well , and i have had a few really great rissoto dishes in New England this one is not a runner up definitely winning a must try great food experience.

Worst experience I’ve ever had. Got to the restaurant early for my reservation. Was told by the host my table wasn’t ready but I was welcome to sit at the bar for a drink. We went over to the bar and after several minutes of sitting a waiter told us we could not sit there that people were waiting to eat at the bar. I asked if I could just order a drink while We waited for our table, he told me no that I needed to get up. Confused I complied and left the spot at the bar. Now standing behind the bar I tried explaining to the waiter that the host said I could wait at the bar for my table. To which the waiter responded “ No he didn’t “. At this point the majority of the bar patrons were turned around watching all of this. I felt completely humiliated like I was a child getting chastised by my parent for doing something wrong. I have been to Pellana’s several times I will never return after this experience. I will drive the extra 15/ 20 minutes into Boston to a real steakhouse (Grill 23) for better steak and better quality service. A simple and respectful conversation could have avoided this.
