Mike's became a frequent haunt for my family during our vacation on Laguna Beach. My parents went almost daily for oysters. My sister raved about the breakfast. I only made it down one time but I really enjoyed my fried grouper sandwich on that visit. Very casual interior with friendly staff. Would go again.
Our little waitress has a wonderful Southern dialect. Best fried green tomatoes and oh, the Seafood Gumbo. My wife had fried chicken. You can order sides for an extra $1.50. All-round great place. Don't expect too much beach front decor. We'd do it again!!
Very busy, very crowded, very GOOD! We ate here on 7/25/2016. My kind of restaurant: excellent service, excellent food, reasonable price! The decor was not impressive but the food was. We'll be back soon!
We ate here twice this week. Food was good and reasonably priced. Servers were great.
Mike was in the dining room tonight. Very gracious host. Loved the music too!
I'm from Louisiana and the garlic pepper baked oysters were hands down some of the best I have ever had. Fiancée said her Dungeness crabs were perfect! Will definitely be back next time we are in PCB.
Two times in two days. We may be hooked! Great value, great food, fantastic server! Ask for Harley! She is so much fun and rest of service staff fantastic. Clean, organized, fast! Smaller Kitchen, sometimes gets backed up. Sit back, relax, enjoy another draft! Not a wide selection {none of the trending craft), yet good enough! Cold and wet beer, strong run and cokes met out requirement and with 2 to 6 pm half price beer, wine and well.... We will return!
We ordered the mikes sampler and the steamer sampler. Both excellent! So much food for the price and perfectly prepared. You could easily pay double the money and get half as much food closer to the pier or in any other beach city on the east coast. Took half away as leftovers and we will go back for more!
We ate dinner here on July 4th, 2015. The Captains Steamer Platter was awesome! I would recommend the baked oysters also! The waitress was very good and we enjoyed the meal as well as the feeling of being in a local restraunt instead of a big chain where everything tastes the same.
Food was good. Baked oysters very good. Service was slow and seemed to be under staffed but the food was something I would definitely recommend.
Gem of Panama City Beach. Well priced seafood and well-rounded menu. Has a great local vibe. The service was excellent and very friendly. I'll be back!
Best shrimp and grits EVER! We also had the captain's platter and oyster sampler. The atmosphere isn't very beachy, but the service was great and the food was very good.
We just sat at the bar and had some gumbo and a dozen Rockefeller oysters. It was AMAZING! The service was great, the food was great, and we were in and out of there really quick. I can't wait to go back!! Don't miss this place if you're in the area! Update: We went back twice more while there for the week because the food was so good. I had 3 different types of baked oysters over the week, and my favorite was Mike's Oysters. I didn't get another pic of those because we ate them so fast, but I did get pics of the shrimp and grits, and he just loved it! I had the seafood medley Cajun over liguini. It was the best!!! Mr. Thomas personally came to our table to ask if everything was good. Excellent restaurant!!! I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
We really enjoyed Mike's! Based on reviews, we decided to eat dinner here. Service by Tiffany was exceptional, food was all delicious. Our party of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) ordered a variety of food and drinks. Kids had pizza and pasta, adults had red shrimp steamer, shrimp scampi pasta, chicken parm, and grilled chicken. Large portions and moderate prices. We went at 4pm, so no big crowd or wait. We'll definitely be back!
Went there on a weekend, and there was a decent wait time. As we were seated, they attended us immediately and served quickly. The food was good and the place was okay.
Fantastic Seafood! The Spicy Beach Shrimp was my FAVORITE. Everything we ate was so good. We met Mike! So cute. We had salads with homemade (delicious) ranch,
Steam Royal Reds (it was a lighter meal but really good), a 1st Mate Basket with catfish & Shrimp, hush puppies, & French fries. EVERYTHING was SO GOOD! And we were lucky enough to have Angie wait on us the one night a week that she is waiting tables. Other than that, you can find her tending bar. She was wonderful. We will DEFINITELY go back if we ever make it back (from Texas) to Panama City Beach, Florida.
Great spot for a quick lunch or a casual dinner. Oysters were $20 for a dozen, and they were DELICIOUS! Entrees are served with a side salad and 2 sides, which makes it a plenty of food, you’ll have boxes to take home. I loved sweet chili dressing for my salad. Seafood casserole was just average, grilled salmon was pretty good. Our waitress was very nice and attentive:) overall I loved it there and would recommend you to visit!
The fried shrimp was amazing. And the catfish was flaky. Loved the roasted potatoes. My husband had the seafood casserole. He liked it as well.
No way this place deserves less than 5 stars. Our wonderful server Lily, a future RN, recommended Royal Red Shrimp Steamer and it was not only amazing but very reasonably priced. The shrimp tasted like lobster just as she suggested. It also included a great salad. My son and I thought it was one of best meals we ever had.
Oysters on a half shell were awesome, we had gone to Dusty's oyster bar and oaid full price for oysters that were a quarter of the size of Mike's. This waitress suggested a half order to make sure its what we wanted. At Dusty's the waitress got offended and avoided our table cause we asked her why they were so small. Good food. And Alligator tale! Go here not Dusty's for your oysters!
Some of the best food I have is in quite some time. The atmosphere was relaxed and the employees were great. We plan to visit there again before we leave Panama City Beach.
Party of 4 everyone enjoyed their meal and service was great. We had raw oysters as an appetizer then I had fried shrimp basket. Son had fried fish basket - fish a lot better than I expected. MIL had Greek salad w/ shrimp (liked) and wife had shrimp & crab quesadilla, which she said was "just okay." I believe owner Mike was there and visited some tables. My only question is why all these restaurants keep adding the credit card fee vs building that into your cost structure? Feels like being nickel and dimed after dropping over a hundred bucks on dinner. Just saying.
