We really enjoyed ourselves at Mac's on Slade. We had numerous appetizers including their BLT flatbread. We really liked that they had live music, and the band was excellent they were called whiskeykitten. We loved all their music and enjoyed singing along as well as dancing. The wait staff at Mac on Slade were super friendly, accommodating and quick to serve our food and drinks. It was easy to park around here. I would highly recommend Max on Slade for anyone looking for a local, small intimate setting: bar, food and live music.

Great music! Great food! Great service! And... To top it off, I felt like family right away with the locals. I happened to be in town for business and wanted to hit a blues club. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

The strength of Mac's is as a live music venue. We went to hear Toni Callahan and her jazz act, which was phenomenal. Every table was full, but it wasn't particularly crowded beyond that. There was only one waitress and she was also tending bar. I don't remember seeing another bartender. Needless to say, despite her working her butt off, getting drinks and food was pretty slow. We only ordered appetizers, and what food we ordered was decent. The artichoke spinach dip and pitas were really good. The homemade tortilla chips were also good. The nachos were kind of greasy and salty. The mixed drinks were $6 for rail quality and were on the weak side. Tall-boy PBRs were inexpensive. We would definitely go back for the right live music act.

We've never actually stayed for the music we usually just get food. They had the best nachos but, last time we went they had changed them. Now it's like a generic cheese sauce. Food is still good though

Absolutely the best place around for great music. This gem is loved by so many. Food and staff are great, as well as Mac the owner. We have developed very strong and lasting friendships with others who frequent Mac's for the same reasons.

Good food, great staff, live music. What more can you ask for? They also have Jim Beam Vanilla. Rare to find, but even rarer is to find a bar tender who knows how to mix it properly. Normal places are either too much or too little, here gets it right. And if you want to watch the performers they have tv's and webcams with live feeds.

The band "Unfinished Business" was wonderful Saturday night. Great little location. Would have expected a larger crowd, but maybe there are fests going on competing for attendance.
