Mighty Sushi

Writing this as I devour my delicious Philly roll in the parking lot. I can't speak about anything else on the menu because this is my go-to roll every time and it never fails to hit the spot for less than $10! Today I learned that I can add unagi sauce to it which tops the sushi cake *drooling* ... if you're in Pahoa and you're craving sushi you should check out this place! Everyone is always super friendly too!

Mighty sushi is family owned. The atmosphere is good. There needs to be a little more ambiance in the decor. Their sushi and food make up for that. I can say I love their creations. You have pages & pages to choose from. Lots of choices. They have great specials for the day. The owners are friendly and nice to talk to, and they offer brown or white rice. There are local chain sushi places in Hilo; but if you like eating MORE rice, then ingredients then eat there. I prefer a balance of ingredients & rice. If you have NOT tried Mighty Sushi, go and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed. My suggestion is that you call first just to make sure you're not going to Pahoa & they may be closed. They close for certain times for family get aways. They open on the times list by Google for the most part. Hope you get to try Mighty Sushi. Delish.

Dear lord... I just finished eating some of the most affordable sushi and above all it was AMAZINGG! I highly recommend the place! Also the music was just perfect for the family style restaurant! 😍 I was worried after reading some of the recent reviews and more so about the hours of the place after trying to stop by last week for lunch to see them closed. My wife and I dropped by tonight, Monday July 24th 3023, and waited for the opening at 6 p.m. Covid and everything that happened recently may have affected the hours of operation but the food still doesn't disappoint. Rolls that were massive and plentiful in just the perfect way. Sauced perfectly and even though I wasn't too hungry, I still destroyed 2.5 rolls. Fish was still fresh, the tempura shrimp rolls were crisp and had a perfect crunch to it. We even tried a few of the deep fried rolls just to explore and they were amazing. All fresh made(waited 30 minutes but well worth the wait for 6 rolls ). First visited in 2019 and planned on visiting every year after but due to the pandemic we were delayed for longer than expected. Glad to see that they hold up exactly to my reaction from all those years ago.
