Chicken it's always overcooked, dry and not juicy, I'm sure it's chicken from the day before Of about 20 times I have been in there only two times chicken was fresh and juicy, Salsa beans and tri tips are really good, the exception, Compare with Pollo Loco and you'll see the difference of what I'm talking about, Unfortunately Pollo Loco's too far away from work and I am so hungry sometimes that I don't have a choice, Customer service it's terrible

I have been coming here for over 20 years. Can't go wrong with the tri tip burrito ( my favorite) . It is a family run place that serve great food. The salsa is spicy with a little kick but not going to set your mouth on fire for the rest of the day. The staff is friendly and the service was quick.

I recommend one of the plates. Either chicken or tri tip or half of each. You can't go wrong with that. It's not like your typical Mexican food place. They keep it simple and extraordinarily delicious! Try it once and I guarantee you'll be back.

Meat is cooked to perfection with a smoky flavor. Cuts are really good as well as portions. A little pricey, but a must try at least once. Definitely not to be confused with El Pollo Loco.

We got off a plane in Phoenix and, as is our practice, looked for the best rated local dinner restaurant closest to the airport and headed that way. We were not disappointed - they really deserve this rating! I had the pork shoulder and it was so tender I was stunned - I could have probably ate another one! It's so easy to drop into a big chain restaurant like Seasons 52 or Hillhouse - but we live to support these awesome little local restaurants, especially when they are this good. The Owner Chef was an enthusiastic host - really personable - and talented! It's a little had to find - they are right next to the AMC theaters in the complex - free valet! Enjoy!

Very good! Similar to Pollo Loco style but way better. More authentic and better quality. One of my favorite Mexican spots in Oxnard!

Quality Mexican BBQ with vegetarian options. My wife is a hard core carnivore while I'm a vegetarian and El Pollo Norteno lets both of us get our grub on. The BBQ tri tip burritos are some of the best around. Back when I used to eat meat, this was at the top of my list for tri tip burritos. Now, I just get a beans and rice burrito which, with their fairly spicy but flavorful and fresh salsa, really hits the spot. It also comes with a handful of their thick and delicious chips which are the perfect pairing. Great place to eat. Also has horchata for those times when I'm looking to splurge.
