Yes, you can absolutely order the beef bulgogi and it will be delicious, but, if you go off the beaten path a little bit it will be rewarded. Try the dteok bokki (rice cake with chile sauce) and the jap chai (clear noodles with beef) with a raisin tea or a buckwheat tea! Then, if your still hungry, go after that bulgogi with all the delicious banchan and rice you can handle.
Love Sobahn and that they don’t add MSG. Servers are always friendly, food is always hot and yummy! Have traveled from outside the city to come here for years and will continue to do so.
The food was very tasty and fresh. The food came out hot, to hot for me. I had to let it cool down first. The spicy pork was not as spicy as I would have hoped for but probably plenty spicy for most. The meal came with traditional fermented vegetable. 3 types of kimchi, some sprouted beans, and some weird fish thing that was actually pretty good and not too fishy. I would recommend this place to others and will be back for more.
First time visiting this Korean restaurant and I must say it was pretty good! All of the employees were very friendly and courteous, the restrooms were clean and well kept, and the food was delicious. I'm definitely looking forward to returning.
A new family favorite!!! The food was so tasty. The current bento box style for takeout was a fun way to try several menu items. Sharon was so knowledgeable about allergen friendly options. It was so nice to eat at a new restaurant and not feel worried about eating something that will be a problem for me. She was able to accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free and egg-free. Even our littlest kiddo could not get enough of the cucumber kimchi. Can’t wait for our next visit.
It was pretty decent for my first Korean restaurant. I had a Korean expert with me. He was telling that the food is good but not better than the food in Korea. Although I value his opinion I would give it another try.
My husband and I have been to Sobahn twice already! The kimchi jjigae was perfect for a cold wintery evening. The dish was spicy but not enough to hide the flavors.
The 2nd time we visited, I had the dolsot bibim bap. This is the one served in a hot stone bowl. Talk about delicious! The crackling sound of the ingredients against the stone bowl, the presentation of the ingredients, and the taste combined into a delicious meal. The banchan side dishes are all very good! The kimchi tastes just like mom's used to!
Wonderful options for to go dinner. Excellent quality Korean food. A picture is worth 1000 words.
Excellent food. So worth giving into temptation on my way home (I'm trying to limit eating out). Was a little worried when I saw the lack of business on a Thursday night but a few more came in after me. Was seated fairly quickly, I found the staff fairly attentive checked in on me before ordering and a few times throughout the meal. I ate a pork kimchi soup which was still bubbling when it came out they don't lie about the jjigae(soup name) description about how it's prepared. Decently spicy will inquire if they have something more spicy next time. Also had some vegetable porridge that was equally good in a different manner.
