This eating establishment is one of the silent sleepers. Many people just don't know how good it is or that it exist. I would suggest for the beginner of Ethiopian food, if they're not strictly vegan, to try the platter combo of both meat and vegetarian to feel the real experience. And don't forget to take a friend or two.
You'll probably get lucky and have the power behind Elda's, the wife, coming to your table and discussing the items on your platter, their rotation of eating,,the meaning of that arrangement and all those things that seem to look confusing when that huge platter arrives.
And be sure to order the Honey Wine. It's something they mix and make there I've checked, I know their liquor supplier. But go there if you have not tried it yet and if you have, you know from the menu you have to go again. So on this one, follow your heart and stomach to Elsa's Ethiopian cafe/ Resturant.
I'd never had Ethiopian food before and, after reading the menu, asked what menu items were not as spicy since that is an issue for me. The gentleman pointed out several items and was so kind. The dishes were very plentiful and tasty. As we ate, Elsa came out and asked us (and others) how their food was and if she could get anything for us. It was a wonderful experience with options for vegan meals also!! We loved it!
Honey wine ~ yum!!
