Osterville is fancy and Five Bays Bistro fits right in. Dress in your summer best preppie gear, which I love. You can look really nice if you choose but don't slouch in the summer resort fashion. I like that by the way. I like looking like I care. Lilly Pulitzer not required but welcome.
We started our night with the barbecue baby back ribs and the lobster Mac and Cheese. Okay! The ribs were delectable. I didn't know I was going south tonight. I thought I was in Massachusetts! But the lobster Mac and Cheese did not congeal. Perhaps they can work on this for next summer.
Our meal was top notch. So flavorful! I had the short rib - hard cider braised short rib, cheddar, polenta, roasted root vegetables, pan jus - to be exact.It was absolutely perfect. Again, I was transported to New Orleans. The chef put some textures and flavors together that made for an outstanding meal. My friend had the salmon with celery root puree, kale, fennel, spiced pumpkin seed gremolata. I mean - what is gremolata? Who knows. Just eat it!
Yes, I would go back here. I had an awesome time and felt treated well. The food was also delicious.

Lively with eclectic american menu. Attentive service. Emphasis on appetizers, side, small plates, plus a number of entrees. Simple but great salad with candied walnuts cranberries, vinaigrette. Cauliflower with buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing as a veggie alternative to wings. A couple of expensive prime steaks on the menu (next time).

Really good meal, I got the steak and choose to get the garlicky spinach and parmesan frites. Other meal was the short rib with mashed potatoes. Steak was cooked perfectly to my order and the short rib was very tender. Dessert was the pear streusel cake that was very interesting but I didn't like it. Not that it was bad or anything just not for me. Only reason they didn't get a 5 star rating from me is because the service was a little slower than it should've been.

Reading reviews, one comment about fish tasting like ‘feet’…. who eats ‘feet’. Are they fishy tasting? What would a 15D foot taste like? Dolphin?? 😂

Delicious food and wonderful service! We had a large group of 9 at the restaurant, but the waitress was very kind, accommodating, and got everything right. And, everyone in the group loved their food - considering this was a family dinner, that’s a big compliment!

I have been here twice, both times a great experience. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. The portion sizes are big - I always have leftovers, making the price a good value.
The most important thing you need to know is that you MUST get the buffalo cauliflower appetizer. Even if you don't like cauliflower, seriously, try it. It's crispy to perfection, and the whipped marscapone blue cheese is insane. Although it's not actually spicy (I like spicy), I don't mind that because I can share it with more people.
I got fish dishes (sole and grouper) both times I went and loved them. The sides are creative and tasty.
I like that you can make a reservation online in advance, so you know you'll have a seat. The inside feels like private dining, and there are some outside seats too.
Will definitely be back again!

Great food and great service. Make sure to get a reservation at least a month ahead of time, or stand by the door at 4:30 for when they open at 5 just so you can get seats at the bar. Cape Cod's little high end restaurant where everyone fights for seats and people standing give you dirty looks until you get off your seat.
