Seasonal, small, very busy Cuban Restaurant. Amazing fresh authentic Cuban food. Yes, this place is a little disorganized. However it is a hidden gem. If you are starving, just come here another day. In the peak of the season, you might have to wait. But this is a good thing. This translates into a lot of people enjoying the quality of the food. Restaurants are hard to run... Hard to staff. And when many start to cut corners, they cut the corners on either the quality or amount of food. This is NOT the case at Lidia's Cuban Kitchen. They definitely are not cutting corners on the food. They may need a little help staffing. So what! Just come here with a little patience. And enjoy the product that Lidia puts out. A restaurant of packed people day in and day out, makes it kinda hard to believe the bad reviews. So when the summer comes around, plan to eat dinner here. I dare you to say the food is horrible... Because it's totally not!
Lidia’s Cuban Sandwiches at the beach changed my life. Take the moon landing, stuff it in the civil rights movement, and times that by a million.. This. Place. Slaps. Let me paint you a picture: two friends and I walk in and are greeted with a warm smile by Rita, the head server and shining star of the restaurant. This girl knows her food and loves her guests. We received detailed descriptions of each menu item and Rita was as warm and accompanying as could be. The head fryer, William, is a legend in his own right; making food delicious and quickly is as easy as breathing for this culinary connoisseur. Superior service, phenomenal sandwiches, and an atmosphere as warm as grandma’s homemade pies... that’s Lidia’s for you.
Food was excellent. The kitchen was understaffed and food took too long to come out. Not a big deal. Some other patrons completely overreacted. Awful people. They belittled their waiter and make a ton of noise for over an hour cursing and whatnot. Food, when it arrived was absolutely excellent. Picadillo does not have raisins in it, which is excellent for me. Some people like that. I don't. Cubans come premade, which is a little bit of a shame because I'd love to sub the swiss. Fries served were thick steak fries. All in all, an excellent meal. The pineapple soda was also awesome. Extremely disappointed in the middle aged patrons who were the only people of over a dozen tables that acted like children.
