Cafe One

What a treat on a beautiful Sunday morning. We happened to be in town on a trip and we saw the ratings of this little spot in Ormond Beach, not too far off I-95. And I gotta say, the reviews were right! It's a homey little spot with simple breakfast and lunch offerings ranging from eggs benedict with a flair to chicken and waffles! To top it all off, they've got great coffee and even some pinball machines to help settle down the food in your stomach.

Where to begin? The warm, friendly hospitality? The expert, fast, knowledgable service? The high quality ingredients? Chef's creativity & culinary prowess ( this guy REALLY knows his stuff!)? The affordable prices? It's rare to find just a few of these qualities in a restaurant...but to find them altogether is like a dream really. I just finished my 6th meal in 2 weeks here and each meal has been as wonderful as the last...that about says it all. Except to say thank you thank you thank you so much to the lovely folks at Cafe One. Your love of food, service & hospitality shines through in everything you do & serve. Thanks also for making me feel so welcome...i actually miss you guys when i leave!! The only complaint i have with Cafe One is I was somewhat thinner before finding you guys!! 😉

We really wanted to support a local restaurant and drove past very good restaurants to get there. Of course, inside seating was limited but there was a table available when we arrived. I believe there are six tables inside. We sat for at least 10 minutes without menus or a waitress. We didn't even see one.. we did see two waitresses before we left.. Once we got a menu, it was another long wait to place our order. When our food arrived we had to ask for silverware. The meat in the omelet was so tough you could not chew it. I brought it home for the dogs. I never did see a check. I ask for one but had my money ready so the waitress just took it. I don't expect I will rush back.
