This was a nice course that was in pretty good condition considering the drought of the last couple of months. The greens were firm, but receptive and putts ran true. I didn't have a bad lie anywhere. Sneaky water comes into play on a few holes. Electric carts were top notch and they had auto brakes. Clubhouse staff were friendly. I got around in less than two and a half hours. Not sure why there wasn't anyone there. It would be a shame if this course closed. I paid a little under $40 on a hot deal which made it desirable.
The previous reviews seem a little off from where the course is today. Just completed a round this morning and in my opinion this course is in pretty decent shape compared to a previous visit. Seems like new management is making a difference. 17 of the 18 greens are in fantastic shape. The one missing from that factor is not far from being tip top shape. The pricing seems steep, but it falls in line with all the surrounding courses. Main question is, "would you play this course again"? Answer, "without a doubt"!
Very nice design loved the nice views but the greens and tee boxes need help. Also I think the water thing broke.
Came here on a recent Saturday for a round of golf. They were relatively busy and I ran out rather quickly when I was done for another event. 5 days later, I realized I left my portable speaker magnetically attached to the golf cart. I called and to my surprise, it was turned in by Will, the young man that was dealing w carts that day. Due to his integrity, I will be back to play golf more frequently Thank you Stoneybrook!
Today is my first time playing on this course. The overall experience was great! The fairway and green are in great shape. The bunkers are in Okay condition. The employee in the pro shop were great! Really love the design of this course, especially whe. You have a chance to play from the championship tee.
Course got a new superintendent and it shows. Course has made a 180° turn from where it was a year ago. Greens run true and the fairways are back to being decent. I’ve never had an issue with customer service here and the weekend crew has always been aces. Best part of playing 18 here is the wild life! Love seeing deer, bobcats, etc.
What a great improvement to this hidden gem. Greens were spectacular and the fairways in good shape. I see the bunkers are being worked on, and the fairways are well watered. Staff in the pro shop and cartsmen are very friendly. I have played this course a number of times, and will be back again.
The course is in the best shape that I’ve ever seen it. The price is a little steep, but it looks like they’re putting the money to good use. I was impressed at how far the course has come. Bunkers are still awful, and the rough is a bit rough, but I think it’s worth giving it another shot if you’ve been the past few years and weren’t impressed
I played this course over a decade ago, and I remember it being one of the more prestigious ones in the area. That memory has been completely tarnished after playing it recently. The tee boxes are crab grass, the greens are dirt, the fairways are indistinguishable from the rough, the clubhouse is closed, and we were told by the proshop employees that their air conditioning has been in disrepair for a year and a half. The only real positive is that you'll likely be playing under no pressure from other players on the course.
6-MONTH UPDATE: Well, I don't know how they did it, but it's pretty much back to normal. Pics are of recent green and tee box.
Read some reviews on the course before playing it today and was very worried because of the reviews left a year ago. Overall the course is great! The greens are some of the best that I’ve played on, the fairways are in great shape, but several Tee Boxes do need some improvements. Will definitely play the course again.
