Chuan Lu Garden

I’ve been here twice and the service and food are good. One of the servers looked new or nervous and the other one was very attentive and catering. I always get the Braised Eggplant. This recent time there was an add on paper menu that had a la carte items. I chose the Special Pork Belly off that menu. My sister usually gets Salt and Pepper items that are good. I would go again because there are so many things I want to try.

Food portion was very fulfilling but lunch special price is more than average lunch special prices.

Edit for 2019: some recipes such as the Dan Dan Noodles seem to have changed and aren't as good. It's always sad when a place becomes less reliable. Definitely the best Chinese in the area. The prices are a bit higher, and the portions a bit smaller, than a quick New York still Chinese restaurant. That said, the food is amazing. I'd recommend the dinner menu over the lunch menu for authentic foods. Try the Schezuan Chicken or the Dan Dan Noodles for a full meal, or the Young Chow Fried Rice for the perfect accompaniment.

Returning after almost a year away and it is still just as good as the previous review below. The best Chinese food I've ever had. I came in late and tired so I didn't branch out with my choices this time. I ordered general tso and it was the best I've ever had. My friend's lamb was delicious. The duck was delicious. One of my friends sent his food back twice and we were all embarrassed. It was fine the first time. The waitress was so nice the whole time. Great food, great employees.

The environment is comfortable and the staff were really nice. I ordered general tso lunch special. The fried rice was awesome because it tasted more homemade than some other places I went to. The general tso was really tasty, and the I really liked the hot and sour soup. The soup wasn't overbearing like most soups I had. Overall, good price and good food. I grabbed a couple of menus to order from here when I don't want to cook.
