Review Black Rock Bar & Grill - Orlando

Amazing experience, cooking your own steak, what?! For appetizer we had the lobster lobster dip with the pita chips. I had a sirloin with shrimp, a house salad and asparagus. My husband had the New York Strip with enchilada soup and sweet potato fries. We also had the strawberry margaritas, delicious. Our server Natalie was amazing, she suggested a few menu items, she was very friendly and we didn’t feel rushed at all. We had priority seating reservation, we didn’t have to wait. We definitely recomendar this place.

All 15 of us wanted to sit at the same table, we were told it had to be over a certain amount of ppl in order to be eligible for the room with the long table. We had one waitress who did the best she could, another person periodically came over to assist. The birthday girl, overall enjoyed her birthday, they didn't sing HB but we sure did. She was given a brownie with cake and whip cream with chocolate drizzle on it. One of our guest a cater/waitress got everything off the table so we could make room for the cake she brought in. We make it do what it do BABY IN RAY CHARLES VOICE. A couple of our guest offered their feedback to the manager. That waitress did alot of walking.

Tonight was my first time at Black Rock Bar and Grill and it did not disappoint. I never seen a place where you can grill at your table!!! This was amazing. We had a party of 5 and were seated immediately! The server "Lo" was amazing and had our drinks out in record time. She kept the drinks filled throught dinner and had a great personality! (Ask for her, you won't be disappointed) Now the place is called bar and grill but I thought it was gonna be a date night only kinda place. Not the case, they had big screen tv's so we could watch the game. It was so laid back and fun!! The appetizer for us was the half moon cheese bites.. They went fast and were delicious , Next we had our salads brought out. The salad was fresher than I could have made at home! Lo brought us out the the 6oz steaks and honestly It had to be the coolest thing using a stone to cook it on at our table. This is perfect because if it's not made the way you like it, you have no one to blame but yourself , LOL! She explained the time to leave it on the rock according to how you like your steak! You get a side with it too. We got the fries and they were seasoned perfectly. They have vegetarian options on the menu so there is something for everyone here.We had a member of our party who was celebrating his 70th birthday! We were outside looking talking enjoying the car show that was going on and Lo went above and beyond by coming outside witha lava ice cream cake and sang Happy Birthday to him. I have lived in Central Florida and have not had such good food and good service in the area in a long, long time! This place knows how to make customers happy! The food and the service are excellent! I highly recommend!

Restaurant formats I don't care for. Tapas and places I have to cook my own food. Unless they're really good. Got to try Black Rock for lunch the other day and really enjoyed it. The cut of steak is premium. The best thing about cooking your own steak this way is that you can mix up rare, medium rare, and medium. I'm not a heathen, so I don't do well done. The house steak sauce is really amazing. Some kind of cream, beef consomme concoction. And one top shelf tequila margarita, 9 oz sirloin, 4 oz lobster tail, mashed potatoes, and a salad for just under $30. Pretty dope. We went at 3pm right when they opened for lunch. No one was there. I feel like dinner wouldn't be as fun. jmo. The place gets really crowded.

Visited Black Rock for our Anniversary and Stacey was our server. She was very polite and attentive. Her service went beyond what we expected for a Tuesday night. The food was well done. We enjoyed our service the food as well as the atmosphere. If you’re in the area be sure to visit as from the greeting upon our arrival to the quality of the food we were pleased. Thanks Stacey for ensuring we enjoyed our night.

We had a large party and were celebrating 2 Birthday's. We felt the server was annoyed by us, but the guy assisting him was great and very friendly and helpful. Our food was delicious.

Lets just say this place hits! We literally stumbled across black rock, after discovering our regular brunch spot no longer serves brunch! Our bartender Sydney was as super attentive & accommodating. General manager Acen was great as well! My husband & I love spicy food, and the team took on the challenge of brining us all the spicy condiments the kitchen had to offer! Their homemade dynamite sauce took my shrimp & grits to the next level!!! My husband sprinkled a bit of Cajun seasoning in his biscuits & gravy for that extra kick! The food was already delicious on its own but these yummy add ons took our dish to THE next level!!! We’re locals & will be recommending this place to all of our friends & family! Safe to say, we’re “regulars” now.

Now this restaurant has a very interesting concept and experience! I would definitely recommend it. There is part of the menu where you can order your food and it comes out RAW (wait for it..) but you get to cook it yourself at your table. They provide a volcanic rock (hence black rock) that comes out VERY hot and as you place your raw food (steak, chicken, or fish), you cook your food right it front of your eyes as well or as medium rare as you want it. This was exciting and a quite different experience! The food was good and they also have menu items that are made like a traditional restaurant that I ordered that was great also!

Had an excellent first experience here. The food, especially the lobster bisque, was amazing, service specifically from our sever Mariah was perfect, and the setting itself is lovely. Also being able to cook your own steak on a lava rock is an interesting and yummy experience!!

I went for Sunday's brunch with my teenager son. We both enjoyed the food, the server was so sweet Is a blond young lady (I didn't get her name unfortunately) food was amazing and generous, fairly priced and of course the mimosas were a plus 😊 I will definitely go back

Best experience ever!!! Lola is the best waitress ever!!! Making our total experience awesome, we felt like family. She was fun, happy, and knowledgeable. Our drinks came fast and the wait for food was nonexistent. Scott the manager was very understanding and made everything easy with a crowd of 35+ people. Will eat here again for sure!!

We had an amazing dinner here! It was our first time and we can’t wait to be back! The restaurant is super cute, the concept of the meat on the rock is so cool!! Our kids loved it too! The magical drink was so good and the volcano brownie was amazing. It was all so delicious, great atmosphere and our server was the best! Thank you so much Greg. We can’t wait to come back!

I had the most amazing experience tonight at Black Rock. Our server Lo was the most amazing server I have ever had. There wasn't a point where our drinks weren't filled or we didn't have anything we needed. She kept coming back to the table to make sure we were good. She explained the process of cooking our food and demonstrated it even when we had an issue with our shrimp she and the GM came out and made everything right. The food especially the filet mignon was great and the concept is pretty cool. If I didn't enjoy anything I would come back just for Lo's service, luckily I enjoyed everything.

There was a bit of a wait (15 or so minutes) between the time we were seated to our waiter introducing himself, but once he arrived it was great! Jeff was friendly, attentive, and informative. The food came out as expected and in good time. I had fun using the black rock. Would recommend the clam chowder, lobster bisque, and Volcano Shrimp! Only thing we wouldn't get again was the mango flavored lemonade. The staff also took extra steps in assisting me with an issue I had, which I very much appreciated!

This place is fabulous!! Food is delicious! You cook your own steak on the black stone, steak was perfectly seasoned and garlic butter was provided. My taste buds were having a party! Service was amazing. Will come back!!!😁👍

On Sunday we went in for brunch around 12 When we went up to the buffet there was barely anything there. They had no one standing there just 3 people running back and forth, but there was no one there to help you, the lids kept falling because there was no room to put them anywhere. The potatoes were barely warm, there was no bacon at all, and when we asked about it a gentleman just rudely said we don't have any. How do you have a breakfast buffet with no bacon? We constantly saw people brings food but it was cookies and chicken and waffles. The waffles were hard and dry I couldn't even eat them! We basically got our money's worth by ordering a lot of shrimp since that was the only good thing. Our drinks were inconsistent, we had unlimited bloody Mary's and sometimes they had a garnish and some didn't. Overall I would not go back. My friends were able to take advantage of the bogo offer but since it was just me I paid full price and It definitely wasn't worth the $20.

Hands down one of the worst experiences I have ever had. We were celebrating two birthdays. We put in our food order and an hour later after complaining to three managers we received our food. The first manager we spoke to completely and rude and shouldn't be in customer service. He said that our items were 25 min ticket items , which would have been fine if the food had come out in 25 mins. (Also remember the food has to cook on the rock when it comes out. ) He was condescending and distastefully rude. Then after they brought out the food, they were out of some items? I mean you waited an hour brought out everyone's food and then tell us this? Really? Then there was one manager came over and said he would find out about the food and he never came back. I had heard so many good things about this place I was looking forward to going. I was completely disappointed. The waiter forgot sides for people, he forgot people's food (this didn't include the food items which they were out of) which we had to walk around the restaurant to find him, to find out where they were and also didn't refill our drinks unless we found him. Bottom line we paid the bill and left it wasn't worth the way we were treated. (Also the party behind us same size group didn't have to wait an hour for their food. ) Not only were we treated poorly someone slipped on the floor and they didn't even care. I had to tell three staff members before someone finally brought a wet floor sign.

We (family of 4) were really excited to try this Black Stone experience, it was an early Father's Day gift for the hubby from the kids & myself, but boy were we disappointed. Server took a while just to introduce himself & to take our drink order, (2 iced tea, 1 soda, 1 water) when it came it was wrong (received 3 iced tea, 1 soda) minor error & the server did hurry to get it corrected. Moving on with our appetizer order, when it came out the calamari was good but the onion soup was cold & tasted 'funky', not so good. Moving on with the entree order, the salads were really drab & wilted, but the 4 steaks on the stone were really tasty (yaaay), however, the sides on the other hand were BAD, they were like ya basic drive thru, cheap, low end items. The fries were cold, the broccoli/mozzarella was cold, the baked potatoes were cold & raw (they came with 1 wrapped piece of butter & a small side of sour cream) & the mushrooms were NASTY. The server said he would replace the potatoes but we told him no it's ok we will do without, he offered to take the broccoli away & replace that too but we just kept adding a piece at a time to the stone to reheat it.. Nothing was going right at all, the server tried really hard to accommodate us but he was run off his legs with trying to serve quite a few large tables of people as well as quite a few smaller tables too. The manager did come over & apologized in regards to the meal thus far & offered us free desserts, ok who doesn't want free desserts :) We did decide to try the bread pudding dessert (1 order for the 4 of us to try as we did not want to abuse the courtesy) along with 2 Lattes to finish off our meal :) As we waited on dessert, the server came back & told us that they no longer do the specialty coffees anymore (lattes, cappuccino, espresso, maccachino) only 'regular' coffee was available but we decided to veto the coffee & just wait for the dessert to arrive. When it did eventually come, it was nothing at all like was mentioned on the menu & was really cinnamon(y) + it was borderline mediocre. Overall the night was disappointing & we probably won't be back until we see, 1: the ratings go up 2: to give management time to try to rectify the negatives into positives..

Ate there on 10/28/2017 and my first experience was wonderful. Food was amazing and you HV control as to how done ur steak is gonna be if purchased because u cook it on your plate (hot rock)..Service was awesome and our waiter was by kinda close by the bathroom but was very sweet. Will go back for sure. Tried the either 5 or 6oz steak, 1/2 rack of delicious ribs with bangin in house made barbeque sauce, shrimp, backed potatoe, and Mac and cheese lol. I ate it all too...Bon a petite

Well Black Rock has really gone down the pan!! Dined there last night with my husband and son! Chronic diarrhea when we got home! It was empty but still had to wait 10 minutes for a table! Bought my husband and sons salad out, forgot mine, had to ask for it! Visited the restrooms that were filthy dirty, faucets hadn't been cleaned in weeks, restaurant floors were full off debris ( we'll blame the hurricane lol). The front doors and windows of the restaurant full of grime! All in all I will never go again and I think they need a visit from Health and Safety. Can't see them being open for much longer, watch this space!!

The service here was horrible and the mangers were even worse to top it all off. I ordered my food and took it took more than 45 minutes to come out. One of the mangers asked me what he can do for. I asked if he can check on my food, 45 minutes later the manger never returned. When my food finally came out the Waiter just put my food down in front of me and walked away. I had listen to the waiter across from me that was giving the his customers a tutorial on how to use the hot rock to cook there food. At the end of the night the manger came up to us and says he was short staffed and sorry for the complications. If you are short staffed then just tell your guest up front so they know what to expect, don't wait till last minute and use it as an excuse. Why would you give me coupons for a horrible restaurant? To have a cheap meal but same crappy service!? Thank you for ruining two birthdays at once way to go

We were down in Orlando on vacation to Disney which we went four days to. On the last day of vacation we decided we were just going to go out to eat and relax. The hostess took a little long to realize we were standing there waiting to be seated but from there, the experience was ah-maz-ing. I don't remember our waiters name but he had curly hair and was full of information about what his favorite cut was and how the sides were. There were four of us, our friends ordered a shrimp app and said it was very good and we ordered the pretzel fondue which was AMAZING, loved the garlic cream cheese. We all ordered a steak on the lava stone for our meal. Cuts of steak were very tender and delicious and large in portions. The broccoli was a little a little undercooked in my opinion but it depends on preference. Mashed potatoes were amazing and so were to sweet potatoes. Our friends had mixed drinks in which they also loved. We finished with the volcano dessert which was also good of course. The brownie was a little cakey too be a brownie but overall would eat here again.
