The mara is the quick service eatery located on the ground floor at animal kingdom jambo house. A fairly simple menu consisting of burgers, salads and other meat and rice bowls. Food is cooked fresh once ordered and brought to the table. Alternatively ypu can place a mobile.order via the Disney experience app.

As the quick service food option at Animal Kingdom Lodge, The Mara is a convenient place to eat. You can order meals or grab packaged or premade items off shelves and check out quickly. There’s also a coffee bar. A highlight for our crew is the gluten-fee zebra stripe domes dessert which you have to ask for as they keep the gluten-free ones in the back. The normal version is available for you to easily pick up and purchase.

2 words ZEBRA DOMES!!! We only visit for these after we finish at AK then we head over to another park. They’re so worth it, we prefer the GF ones.

Even though this restaurant is not fancy, and waiting for your order is a little chaotic, the food is much higher quality than I expected and, of course for Disney, the service is great. We ate several meals here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The vegetarian bowl was outstanding.

Pretty good counter service. I had the flatbread pepperoni pizza and it was pretty good. We had fountain drinks and some desserts. All in all it was what we were looking for, and satisfied the needs of the family without breaking the bank. We sat outside near the pool and would recommend it, but it was not hot when we’re eat there (8pm and late December)
