This was one of my best dining experiences I have had the privilege of enjoying! The food here is absolutely top notch and prepared to perfection, now I know why they are THE best Greek restaurant in Orlando. The staff here are truly amazing and go out of their way to ensure you have the most memorable dining experience. They are very attentative, friendly, and make you feel like your the only patron in the restaurant. Special recognition goes out to my server Jose and bartender Max...great job! Love the atmosphere at Taverna Opa and highly recommend giving them a try, make a good memory and enjoy great tasting food!
Great place, as I've been here back in 2019. The food is good but the entertainment is even better, as they have belly dancers going from table to table and patrons joining in. I had the half lemon chicken with potatoes and string beans. My wife had a chicken gyro, my daughter chicken tenders, and my sister had lamb chops. There was also shrimp, spinach rice, and fried zucchini, which was delicious! I enjoyed my meal as did my wife and daughter, but my sister not so much. It wasn't horrible, but she felt they could have been better. The staff yelling Opa! and throwing napkins all over wass fun. Also, we should have sat outside because it was really warm inside. Aside from that, great place.
I had a family birthday celebration today and it was such a fun atmosphere, fantastic service and the food was amazing. I can't wait to come back at night to see the dancers. The lamb plate was really incredible and you have the best falafels I have ever tried.
We came in around 9pm into a restaurant with white paper napkins littered all over the floor & Madonna blasting so loud that we couldn’t hear the server or each other. I think someone else had the same issue because halfway through our order, the volume went significantly down so we no longer had to yell our order. The food was pretty good, including the eggplant dip with warm soft pita, pastitsio, and mussels in Ouzo (although the server mistakenly told us it was a very small dish with 5 or 6 mussels…the dish came out with 20+ mussels). Octopus was over cooked and slightly hard & rubbery, which is a shame given the server told us the restaurant is know for their seafood & meat. The cocktail I got was too sour & lacked balance as well as the edible glitter mentioned on the menu, and only filled half the glass, which is not worth the high price tag ($17). There are belly dancers here & people come to dance on the tables & throw napkins while the DJ blasts old EDM from the 90’s & 2000’s (sandstorm was playing in the background) would come back with the right people just for the slightly cheesy & kitchy entertainment value.
Went there for a birthday celebration. Very happy atmosphere, great food and not overly priced. Parking was simple. Park at the SP Point Orlando garage on the 3rd floor and go straight to the restaurant across the way. Highly recommend for celebration or date night. Acoustics are good. Even with the music and dancing it wasn't overly noisy. The belly dancing starts at 7pm and it's a blast.
The staff was very friendly and gave us great customer service. My family and I came here for happy hour/dinner. The food was delicious. We will definitely come back the next time we are in Orlando.
Taverna Opa is great for all ages! They made amazing music with an in-house DJ. They also had belly dancers who danced on the table and made the dinner even more fun. A friend of mine had a celebration dinner here and it was so much fun!! I had the meat platter, I wouldn’t suggest this. I would recommend ordering just the grilled/roasted lamb with rice and green beans which was only the best part of the dish. . Everything was fresh and made to order. I can’t wait to come back soon.
This was a pleasant, unexpected, super fun surprise! Went here with some work friends based on a recommendation from a driver. Wow! The atmosphere was outstanding along with the service and the food! The FOOD! Wow! So good!!! But the vibe was laid back but fun. It honestly felt like a club for all ages with food! Perfect for every age! Will definitely be back, even though I live out of state (Disney fan), maybe even tomorrow before I head home. Go! You won’t regret it and you’ll leave happy and full!!
Totally enjoyed our lunch here. It was not crowded. We ordered saganaki, which was service hot, Flaming and with fresh pita bread. We also had mussels that were very tender, service in a garlic, tomato and ouzo base. Delicious! We shared an entree which was their slow roasted lamb with green beans and potatoes. One serving was enough for the 2 of us. The lamb was very tender, a great meal. Will definitely go back!!
Please note that I had a carry out experience not dine in. I ordered through Uber eats for carry out with no issues. My food was ready by the time I arrived. The atmosphere looked so fun, belly dancing had started and people were throwing napkins in the air and generally having a good time. The fries with my gyro were actually pretty good, especially for carry out. The falafel gyro was good but nothing special, I wish it had a little more sauce but it was $3 extra for more tzatziki. The hummus was OK. It was SUPER garlicky and I like garlic, it was also chunky and not smooth. It did come with a lot of pita. For those items I paid $30. The price is a bit steep for me, especially for a typical gyro and hummus. Nothing was phenomenal, just good, hence the 4 stars. A solid option if you’re stuck in the surrounding hotels like I am, but nothing to drive out of your way for, at least food wise.
