Fun place to relax and enjoy tacos and the like. This is a card only restaurant, no cash. You sit down and scan a bar code at the table to order your food and drink. There is a system that if you need wait staff they will come to your table if you have questions, but all ordering takes place through your phone. They were very attentive and made sure we had the information we needed to use their system. Food was quick to come out! The bathrooms were small and not clean. We came in on a Sunday, so maybe it was left over from the Saturday night bar crowd. There are only two women’s stalls, and a pool of water was on the floor in one of the stalls, also none of the toilets were flushed and it had an odor. The restaurant wasn’t too busy and we didn’t have to wait for a table, we got right in and seated. I think the focus of this place is more bar than restaurant. Tacos are small so you need to order 3-5 tacos at least. The fish taco was very good, the tuna and the shrimp tacos were also good. The sauces were good too, not astounding, but not bad either. I may visit again. The system seems pretty efficient and I’m guessing they must share all of the tips.

On Thursday night, I stopped by bartaco for their happy hour. Surprisingly, the happy hour menu closely resembled their regular one, so there wasn't a strong incentive to visit during that time. Most of the food was enjoyable, with the exception of the street corn, which I couldn't even finish despite my love for Mexican street corn. On a brighter note, the plantains were a delightful surprise, accompanied by an unexpected savory sauce that elevated their flavor. My favorite, though, was the baja fish taco. Side note all the tacos are true to the authentic small size of Mexican tacos.

I was pleasantly surprised by Bartaco and wasn’t what I expected. When we walked in, the first thing I noticed was the decor that I would describe as a modern, rustic nautical. Everything there is done via a QR code from your phone. You place orders directly from your device like you’re ordering from Amazon. I don’t typically like this sort of set up, but once the food started coming, I understood why they use it. The food is smaller portions so you can order many different things to try. They’re ordering system allows you to easily start your next batch, and once you order, the food comes out pretty quickly. Their steak tacos were by far my favorite, but we also tried the lobster, pork belly, chicken verde and shrimp tacos. All were really good and flavorful. Many of them had more heat than some people would like but I liked all of it. We also had the street corn which was ok, but not spectacular. Also, you must have the ginger mint iced tea. That was absolutely incredible, and I wish I had discovered it earlier on in the meal.

Took my two daughters here for lunch. They have busy lives so it’s not often we can get together and I like it to be special. None of us had been to Bartaco before. The host and server gave us a brief easy orientation and we quickly got to the app and were able to order. Ordering is self service, we thought this was great because we could order a few things at a time and then reorder as needed. We tried the tuna tataco, guac roja and verde with chips, duck birria with broth (our server recommended the sauce to use on these and he was spot on!), lobster taco, fish taco (crispy mild fish, sooo good), crispy oyster taco, sesame ribeye taco. All were excellently prepared and so delicious. The servers were attentive, food and drinks as well as special requests came promptly. The chef sent out churros with vanilla sauce and chocolate sauce that were divine to help make our special mom and me lunch over the top. We also ordered mint chocolate chip gelato YUM. The girls had cokes to drink but I treated myself to the ginger mint tea carafe, and I could drink this every day all day! I’m not sure I can convey in a review how much I loved this restaurant. The atmosphere is clean and kitschy, pretty outdoor patio dining. The staff really look like they love their jobs and we’re all so helpful and sweet. Big thanks to Jose. I would recommend this place for any occasion. We did not have any alcoholic beverages, but they have a comprehensive stock of tequilas and a full bar. Check this place out soon. I will definitely return again and again. Happy fooding, foodies!

There’s a lot to appreciate about Bartaco… lobster tacos when they come out on the secret menu are amazing and worth the premium. I also like their fish taco that is rightly sized, too! Guac tastes fresh and I could tell I had fresh peppers cut it in- delish. Smoke on the Water is also divine, as are so many of their handcrafted, from scratch, fresh cocktails. A perk of ordering on the phone QR code is food comes faster, though it does reduce your interaction with a server. You can always ask for a menu old school. When it is busier, it does get a bit louder. I enjoy coming for a late lunch off-peak times. Enjoy!

Why haven’t we come here sooner? From the moment we walked in surrounded by all the fun custom decor and the upbeat music, we knew the food was going to be just as exciting. We were so right. The food here is different, it’s done right, you can tell the kitchen here has fun creating flavorful homemade edible art. This is upscale street food that I want more of. I actually got my dessert (the churro was amazing by the way) and I ordered more tacos just because I wanted to try more. I love the spices, the heat was there in a lot of what I ordered. But the heat wasn’t overwhelming and instead danced with sweet and savory sensations. Again the cooks know what they are doing. The front of house staff was also nice and attentive. They went over the whole menu, made our little one happy, and our food was brought to us quickly. Service and food like this usually costs more and requires a reservation. We will be back!

Bar taco is located in an easy-breezy shopping center (Publix groceries, Einstein bagels, etc) so there is a lot of free parking to get in/out of the restaurant with in/outside seating. Most days I would bring a sweater if you sit inside it is cold and the music is a bit loud. We ordered the guacamole and chips, they come out as discs, see photos…salty, crisp and delicious. Next was the falafel taco and cauliflower taco. Both are about two bites. Then we shared the cauliflower rice bowl, I would mix up the ingredients in the rice bowl or some of the bowl won’t have enough flavor. They used to have 1 gelato for $3.50 and 4 for $10, they don’t do that anymore. We were too full anyway AND with it being almost Christmas didn’t need the calories… no added regrets! If you have skip the chips get the gelato!!!! Go, enjoy and eat the 🍧!!!

We got there and the waiting time was 40 minutes but you can clearly see that the restaurant had plenty of tables empty. We decided to go to the bar and wait. Everything we ordered was super spicy. The guacamole had way to much jalapeño that overpowered the avocado. We ordered three types of tacos; cauliflower, shrimp and the ribeye. Too spicy for my taste. Then we ordered the cauliflower rice bowl. Too spicy 🥵. They add a red sauce on it that killed the taste of the dish. 40 minutes later got the text that the table was ready, didn’t need it as already was trying the dessert. Ordered the key lime in a jar and was pleasantly surprised, it was delicious! Would had given them a higher score if I was able to get a table and would have been advised that all the dishes were very spicy to make another choice.

The food was phenomenal! I really enjoyed it, I actually tried every taco on the menu for my first visit and I was not disappointed. The pork belly was delicious and crispy, the shrimp was spicy and the flavor was amazing, the drinks were top notch, and the churros to die for. To top it all off, the bar tender Nick was super attentive, super kind, and really gave some phenomenal recommendations. Nick really gave us a great experience and his service skills top notch. Would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family. PS: I personally don't like duck and I tried the duck taco and it was great, 10/10 would recommend.

KUDOS and thanks to the superior quality customer at Bar Tacos's management! As I walked in to Bar Taco the ambiance and the environment was very chill! I noticed they were a cashless establishment and everything on the menu was in the QR code which was very sanitary and clean! I proceeded to order the Crispy Oyster Taco, Roasted Duck Rice Bowl and a Carafe of Unsweetened Ice Tea! The prices were affordable and the food was delicious and made fresh to order! The presentation of the meal was beautiful! I totally recommend all to come visit this awesome restaurant called Bar Taco in the Dr. Phillips Market place!
