Umami Japanese Barbeque

This is the closest you will get to Yakiniku in Utah. There is a good variety of meats that are well worth the price.The sauces are a bit too sweet though, in my opinion. The service could have been better, as none of our empty plates were cleared from the table and our grill was never changed. I would also suggest having a pair of scissors at each table to but meat into smaller pieces.

The selection of meats, including Ribeye, NY Strip, and Wagyu beef, is a carnivore's dream. The interactive grilling experience adds a fun element to the dining, and the variety of sides complements the meats perfectly. It's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy delicious food while engaging in great conversations. Just be prepared for the temptation to overindulge – I practically needed assistance leaving due to the irresistible offerings!

I loved this place!! Delicious sauces and perfectly seasoned raw foods to flame grill at the table. I got the hot green tea which was a perfect match for the food. The fruits were fresh. Great service and atmosphere. It was $22 per person for all you can eat. Make sure to try the spicy pork belly and the spicy Korean chicken bulgogi.

I knew as a vegan I would have limited food options. But I enjoyed my visit. I grilled my own onions, garlic, pumpkin, and mushrooms. I choice brown rice. The fruit drink I order was actually very good and not too sweet. It was a papaya guava drink. Not something I usually order. I did not see options for hot green tea. The miso soup was really good and the three sauces were flavorful as well. I have the California Roll, ginger, and wasabi. Very good. I also grilled pineapple. The buffet price was decent for all the food and meat options. If you just don't eat meat then, well this is not a place to come to regularly. Since I am not from Utah, I just wanted to try it out. I do like cooking my own food.

This is by far one of my most favorite restaurants. I love Korean barbecue, and there aren't a lot of good places for that here so we tried Umami and it was one of the best places I've tried. I love the Japanese-Korean fusion, and there's a huge selection of meats you can grill at your table, and there's a lot of other pre-cooked foods you can get as well. It's very flavorful and overall delicious. Staff is usually friendly and attentive to your needs. I will say though that the last few times I've gone the food quality has been a little bit poorer, and me and my party have gotten a little bit sick from the food afterwards, so that's why the score isn't a full 5-stars (if I could give fractions I would say it's a 4.9/5). If they fix that, then I can't find a thing wrong with the place!
