Stephen's Diner

After bailing at Charlie Bs we crossed the road to Stephens. We were starving by now, undeterred by windows replaced with hunks of plywood, encouraged by the 4.4 reviews. A policeman was exiting as we entered, looking satiated or having served a cease and desist order. “We just have the buffet”, said our server. There was chicken casserole in a dish to the side, a heaping cold mess of rice, breading & brownish broccoli. This was the only item not swimming in colored liquid. I bravely chose the Salisbury steak that was hiding in a gallon of runny gravy. The veggies were beans, beans, beans and something green and mushy. It was kinda like a treasure hunt, trolling thru big vats of liquid with a slotted spoon to discover what lay beneath. Two bites of water logged meat and a fork full of unseasoned limas convinced me I had made a horrible mistake. We left two plates of slimy goodness after about 2 minutes. The checkout girl asked “how was everything?” “Not great” was the understatement of the week.

The ABSOLUTE BEST burger I’ve Ever had! This place has it all! Great food ! Good reasonable price! My wife and I stopped here to try the burgers! After coming in and seeing all the great stuff on the buffet it was tuff to order the burger! That was until they brought it out! I could hardly get my mouth open enough to bite it! Wow was I glad that we did get the burgers! Really truly to date it is the BEST cheeseburger I’ve ever ate! Bar none! Service was off the hook too! Waitress kept a great check on our drinks and she was so nice! Melody was her name. So if you are in the area and wanting some great food at a very reasonable price then definitely give this diner a try!
