Wow! The home made Biscuits will be seared in my memory. Just passing through town on our fall color tour and looking for a bite to eat. I will say we got lucky to have picked M-22 Grill. Everything about this place was memorable. Let's see...the view of the lake, the very very friendly wait staff, the delicious food, did I mention the Biscuits, they were the best. Also took a carryout scone, made in house, that I had the next morning with my coffe. Delicious! Just stop here and eat, just do it,, I promise you won't be sorry...I will be back!

One word: charming. This adorable little grill, adorned with license plates and different "automotive" decorations is a gem. I've only been here once, so I can only speak from my experience, but the french toast was a little undercooked in the center. Honestly not a big deal, as the bacon was amazing, as was my mother's omelette. Usually, there is quite the wait on the weekends to get into this place, as it is only open until 2:00PM- we were lucky to go on Sunday at about 10:00AM and get in without too much of a wait. Quiet, cute, and the waitresses were all very nice. I enjoyed it, for sure!

Make sure this place is one of your stops along M-22! My fiance and I stopped here for breakfast the morning after we got engaged and it was packed, so we sat at the bar. The owner and staff were all amazing and even gave us a discount 😍 The food was just as good!

Great food and a great atmosphere. If you have a hollow leg, try John’s Favorite breakfast, so much food. Do yourself a favor and get the corned beef hash on the side, it’s homemade and delicious. Our waitress, Cheech, was an absolute hoot and made the meal just that much more enjoyable. When I am in this area, this will be my go to breakfast place for sure.

Amazing breakfast spot here. The homemade biscuits! Wow. We had a great visit here mid week and Glenna the server was extremely prompt and had multiple coffee refills coming our way. Someone commented that it’s overpriced? I’ve lived in NYC and this place is absolutely not overpriced. The portions are hearty and the prices are reasonable. It’s a small town diner with probably one cook - it’s not speedy but if you’re in a hurry, why not try fast food? This is a stop to take a step back in time and enjoy the lake views, and those homemade biscuits!

The food was absolutely amazing. My husband had the Country Fried Steak breakfast and he absolutely loved it. I had John’s breakfast which was amazing! The homemade biscuits were phenomenal. The only reason I’m giving it 4⭐️ Is because the wait to get your food was long. I would definitely go back again, just be prepared to wait a while for your food. We also just tore into our food I forgot to get pictures!

Best breakfast I’ve had in a restaurant in many years, cooked to perfection & request. Outstanding freshly baked biscuits, scones & homemade gravy. Friendly owner & professional staff serve their valued customers in a delightfully decorated diner on Portage Lake with outdoor seating. Definitely worth going out of your way!

A pleasant stop on our trip back down state. Seems to be a local secret, good food and friendly staff. We enjoyed breakfast and one in our party ordered lunch here. Bathrooms were clean which is an indication of a well run restaurant. Recommended. Will be back and adjust the rating higher depending on consistency!

We ate here on our way out of town. It is very retro. I love it. The food was great especially the chicken poh boy and chicken fajita sandwiches. My husband had blueberry pancakes (3 thin but large ones) which he said were great. My son in law enjoyed the French toast. I wish we would have tried this place earlier. It is only open for breakfast and lunch. They were very accommodating for our 2 small children. The staff were very nice. We will definitely be back

It's popular but not sure why. Just your basic small diner with average food. However the servers are extremely pleasant as well as the cooks and owner. Just went for breakfast several times, and it was good.
