Ate brunch there on a Sunday. Very nice menu selection, delicious food, and chatted a bit with the owner. Had one of their bagels this morning at home...very good!
The carrot cake was very moist n good...it's a meal in itself!
Went here for my first time and I will be back. I do recommend this place. Staff was super friendly. Cozy relaxing atmosphere
Mr. Guy and Mr. Larry was a joy. The food is so good. I had brought lox and bagels and it is my favorite dish if I can get to the right Deli that serves it correctly. The owner originally from Bronx New York.
They also have desserts and shakes, if that's also your craving among other delicious entrees.
This is the ONLY place we have found Matzah Ball Soup for 100s of miles in the Mid-Western area. And BOY WAS IT WORTH THE DRIVE !!!!!
My hubby and I had a bowl a piece and Pastrami Sandwiches on our choice of bread. You will be happy you chose to dine @ Swartz's.
Sevices was pleasant and attentive. Well done Sierra😊

This place is a hidden gem in Omaha - and it has one of the best Reubens I've ever had. The girlfriend and I checked this place out one afternoon and were greeted at the register by the owner himself. He was friendly, attentive, and endearing. As he hustled around the kitchen, cooking, training a new hire, taking orders, cleaning - he bantered with us like we were old friends. He was short-staffed, he told us, because he gave his two main employees the day off so they could take their kids to Worlds of Fun.
Later on, he went around to the 2 - 3 groups of people in the restaurant and offered them free french fries ("Do you wanna try my fries? I just made them!"). They were good too, though by this time we were stuffed. The sandwiches here are priced by weight - 1/2 pounders and full pounders - and they are very substantial, filling sandwiches. While it isn't cheap, it is very much worth the money. My advice to you is to either get the Reuben, or get another sandwich and "Reubenize it." If you aren't a Reuben fan, there's plenty more to choose from, including an all-day breakfast menu.
Since that first visit, we've been back 2 or 3 times - the food is consistently good. Swartz's has all the quaint charm and feel of a New York deli, dropped down in the middle of the prairie.
Egg salad, ruebens and matzo ball soup are our favorites!! And the bagels with schmeer! Friendly owner! Our go to for every Omaha trip!
We ordered the combination bagel plater with a sesame and everything bagel and everything "schmear". The bagels and smear were excellent. The lox was good overall, but could use more dill. The egg salad was the best out of the three salads (vs white fish and tuna salads). They serve Maxwell instant coffee machine instead of brewed coffee, but it tasted pretty good and is only $2 with free refills. Their hours are somewhat limited as they don't open until 8 am and sometimes only serve bagels and cream cheese (no meat add ons) before 9 am. Our food came out relatively quickly, but with only two people working I would imagine it could be slow if the place was busy. Overall, would return if looking for a savory breakfast.
My family and I found Swartz's by using the search "Bagel" on the WAZE app. WOW! We had the most amazing breakfast that held us all over until late in the afternoon...even while we walked around the zoo on a 90 degree day!
My kids had a traditional breakfast with over easy eggs, hash browns, bacon, and toast. My husband had a breakfast bagel sandwich, and I ordered what is pictured. I shared the latkes and could not finish the whitefish salad which my husband who doesn't like fish loved. All of us absolutely enjoyed each bite of our food, the experience of conversing with the staff, and the impeccable cleanliness of the restaurant.
I highly recommend Swartz's....we can't wait to get back to Omaha to try it again!
Great reuben sandwich. A little pricey, but great quality and helpful staff. They should fix or change water dispenser. It is for large water bottles and they give you a small cup if you want water. Splashes all over.
I went due to their good review in the paper, and it was very well deserved. I had a delicious brunch, and was happy to see they support Apple/Google Pay.
Food was great. Sandwich was amazing.. beat fries I have ever had. It took about 15 minutes to get our food, that was the only minor issue.
Absolutely fantastic sandwiches. We got 3/4 pound sandwiches and they were definitely worth the money. Each sandwich was piled high with house made meat on rye bread flown in from New York, sauerkraut, swiss and Schwartz's sauce. We struggled to finish the massive amount of food!
We had wonderful counter service and the owner came to our table and spoke with us as we were eating. It felt very welcoming and the restaurant was exceptionally clean.
I can't wait to come back and try some of the breakfast options!
