Kurry Xpress

1st time trying the place today while I my way home to Lincoln. I Love indian food and rolled the dice and was NOT disappointed. Portions were huge and food was amazing. Had Veg Samosas, Malai Kofta, rice and Garlic Nann. It was all hot, fresh and the medium spice I requested has great and perfect heat. This will be a regular stop for the famy when we pop into Omaha.

This was the best meal that I’ve had in my entire life. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. The naan with the butter chicken was amazing!!! The garlic naan was especially good compared to the butter naan. I also had the Manchurian, Dahi Puri, and one of the chaats. I loved it all. The Veg Manchurian was such a great swap for chicken for anyone that is vegetarian. I don’t think that I would recommend the Dahi Puri for any first time Indian food triers because it is such an acquired taste, but I enjoyed it. We bought around 8 items for $55 and split it all between 3. This was a great choice to try multiple different items! I highly recommend this place and I will definitely return.

This Friday was my first time trying their buffet. The service was very attentive. The young lady was very dedicated, friendly and helpful. The food still very tasty but some curries are less spicy. Nonetheless the buffet was a great value and very complete which included sauces, naan, rice and dessert. I used to be one of their regulars when they were located in 108 & Q. Since the new location is a bit far for me, I haven’t gone as often as I wished. However, they are still my preferred spot for Indian food.

Excellent masala dosa. This is an order at the counter restaurant and the food is prepared fresh for you. How do you say delicious!! One little secret. If you do order the masala dosa, keep a little sugar on the side. Dip your dosa bite every once in a while. It just is an old tradition. Highly recommend it for the food.

Kurry Xpress is located in the strip mall restaurant that Tokyo Kitchen previously occupied. I used to visit Kurry Xpress when it was down on Q Street, and it was much more of a take-out place with only disposable plates and flatware. The food was good then and there, and it is now as well. This was my first time at the new place, and I enjoyed the Sunday buffet that had a good variety of dishes. I began at the table with the plates (real ones) and silverware, but discovered when I sat down to dine, that I had started with the desert table. Oh well, life is short, eat dessert first, right? I like Indian food, but I can only identify a handful of dishes by name. Yeah, I could have Googled, but I'd rather eat than Google, and it all looked good. My trust was rewarded. The biryani rice, as someone else mentioned, was worthy of a second taste, but I enjoyed all the choices. The best part of a buffet is sampling a variety of dishes. I would guess there were easily 15 items to try. There was also an unlabeled creamy, somewhat frothy hot beverage. I suspect it was some kind of chai tea. My dining partner thought it had a chocolate component. The server kept our plates cleared and filled our water glasses. The manager chatted with us and said the lunch buffet is served Tuesday through Sunday, with a larger variety on the weekends. The Sunday buffet was $12, ($13.13 after tax). I'm glad to have rediscovered Kurry Xpress, and I'm looking forward to taking my husband here for his birthday. Update: We're back on a weekday The selection is also fantastic on a weekday and the cost is less at $10.99. Both the chicken korma and butter chicken were on the buffet and we're so good, so there ARE foods available that are not as spicy as some of the others. Staff again was personable and welcoming. Do try this place! Update 8/3/19 Still good. They updated the decor. Nice.
