Good food, nicely renovated a few years ago to add more space to the dining room, still on the pricey side, but not many options in northeast Omaha or Ponca. Desserts are delicious.
Good experience. I was very pleased by the dinner my friends and I had at Finicky Franks. We started off with the curry fries, which were wonderful. I had the crab cake sandwich, it was well seasoned and flavorful.
My date and another friend had the steak and shrimp salads respectively. The portions were generous and they also enjoyed their meal. The service was attentive and gracious. I will definitely come back here and would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys casual American dining.
We have eaten here several times. It has been wonderful on every visit. The salmon salad is amazing. It has been cooked perfectly every time I've had it. The service is exceptional. They have a nice bar as well. This is truly a hidden gem. From the outside you would never guess how nice the inside is. It is a very nice little restaurant!
Prepare to be surprised!. Curry fries, salad dressings made fresh in house, a great selection of craft beers and ales, probably the best pork tenderloin sandwich in Omaha and a kitchen staffed by the owner make this place in the gateway to the Ponca Hills a must-go eatery.
I grow certified USDA Organic produce and my wife said I needed to eat there and supply our signature salad greens. When I ate there and later brought samples by, I found Chef Kesa receptive to local, very fresh sweet potatoes, mixed salad greens and unusual items not on the menus. Radish sprouts were requested. The colorful mix of mustards, baby collard, kale, kohlrabi leaf, baby carrot top, baby turnip leaf, baby Swiss Chard, beet greens, Mizunas, Arugulas, Pak Choy, Bok Choy, Dae Cheong Chae, Ho Mi, parsley, cilantro and mint was well received. Chef is excited about offering unusual items as daily specials.
So, come by, ask what the specials are and prepare to become an enthusiastic regular diner. Variety is, after all, the spice of life.
Fantastic food. Friday night pasta night is the best!
Phenomenal food best restaurant omaha!
We have been there several times, never disappointed. My husband has had a steak diner to burgers. I have had vegan burgers and salads. I love their sauces and dressings. They are pricier than a burger joint, but the food has always been worth it.
Best cheeseburger in Omaha. Finicky's is the best place in Omaha for a cheeseburger and fries. Their fries are hand cut and fresh and absolutely delicious. The soup is nothing short of spectacular on a consistent basis. You won't be disappointed.
You've gotta make the trip!. Yes, it's in the old Mother's location way north. This is delightful place with funky decor and way out of sight food. Delicious soups keep me coming back, and interesting, fresh, unique dishes that place it way above similarly priced venues. Prices very reasonable. I generally have to order a soup to go so that I can have it at lunch the next day!
First time at this tucked away gem. It will not be my last. Food was delicious, waitress was amazing. Reservations recommended. Check for hours. Friday hours were 5:00-9:00 pm only.
A Gem in Florence! Excellent Food, a Good Beer and Wine selection, and Superb Service! A 4⭐ Restaurant!
This is one of our favorites. IMO Omahas best fried chicken (Saturday only) my favorite pork tenderloin ever! The onion rings and sauce are amazing. I also put sauce on my tenderloin .The prices might seem a little high but the quality and the portions are very hard to beat! True hidden gem in Omaha
Absolutely outstanding food and customer service. Our first time eating here and will definitely be a frequent customer. The onion rings are delicious and fresh made as is everything we had. We ate the seafood enchilada, bleu burger and Rueben sandwich and all shared. All were awesome. The jambalaya is the best I’ve eaten and finished with lemon cake. Our server was efficient, helpful and absolutely the friendliest server ever!! We want to return for the walleye night!! Can’t say enough, go, you will love it. BTW Atmosphere and decor top notch!
I have never been so impressed with a place. The food is divine. She is a world renowned chef. The service. The ladies love their jobs and enjoy the people. The ambiance is filled with local decor from local artists entwined with the owners fresh take on decorating. The best place I have been for great food. You can never go wrong here. It is a little slice of heaven tucked away. Truly a treasure of the city. I'm just thankful I found it!
This place is a hidden gem. We loved what we ordered and portions where very generous. Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. The staff all were very friendly and Melissa was a great server. We will be back soon to try some of their nightly specials.
There aren’t enough ways to say how amazing this establishment is. The food is always wonderful, staff is so great. I always feel welcomed. Highly recommend
Please don't go here. Please don't tell your friends. It can be our secret! 🙂
If you go and try, you'll love it. Each dish is of the highest quality, and handmade. Go early for the specials as only so many are prepared per day. The chef is an amazing woman who truly cares for her staff, guests, and community.
For real though, go and try it. You'll be glad you did!
We were venturing in to Omaha and “Googled” places to eat, Finicky Franks came up. We saw that the ratings were pretty high and decided why not?! It is a cute little restaurant (reminded us of the little neighborhood restaurants in MN), does not seat too many so I would suggest reservations. We were able to get right in w/o reservations and sat outside on their patio. My husband and I each had a drink, he had a beer and I had a mule. We started out with the Brie in puff pastry served with lightly candied walnuts, apples, and a cracker with a seasoning similar to “Nothing but Bagels”. (Quite honestly we would have just had the apples and not the crackers.), nonetheless it was delicious! We then shared a side salad with a vinaigrette and pasta with bolognese red meat sauce. The salad was mostly spinach with a little bit of lettuce, croutons, olives, and onions, it was just fine. The bolognese (red meat sauce) was tasty, could have had a little more seasoning, but we were not disappointed! The service was impeccable! Overall it was delightful and we’d highly suggest to try it. (As others said, a hidden gem!)
The table was sticky, we got shoved into the storage corner, a bus girl tried to remove a salad, the special was not offered when being seated, and the fresh flower water needed updated.
I have shared these thoughts with the restaurant already. I have dined here several time and I love the food. I will return without a doubt and in high hopes my next experience will be incredible.
