The food was awesome. I got the Lasagna with roasted red pepper bisque soup for lunch. It was very reasonably priced and unlike any Lasagna I have ever had before. The sauce had a sweetness to it that was unexpected but very tasty.
Don't give expecting a fancy experience. This place is the definition of the word dive.

I have gone to Amato's a handful of times and usually get good service & good food. The most recent visit the service was good but the food was cold & when I told the waitress she took my cold, soggy waffle back to the kitchen in her hand ( I was assuming I would get a fresh waffle) but when she told the cooks they must have just put it back on the grill because she brought me back the same waffle (on a plate), but it was burnt on both sides! It was such a disappointment because I know the food can be good but apparently not on that day.

Food was amazing! Service was standard. The booths have seen better days. Will we go back? Absolutely! When in Omaha, it's worth the stop!

Old feel cafe with great food and great people! The Italian sausage is the best in town! Biscuits and gravy Italian style is my favorite!

Not the cleanest or most stylish interior but the food is delicious, a very home cooking feel. I ordered the pancakes and they were great! A solid 7/10. Every member of the staff was extremely cheerful, extraordinarily helpful and friendly. If you’re looking for a classic diner feel with yummy comfort food this is the place for you!

Sign rings true.
Homestyle cooking was done well. Everything was cooked wonderfully, service was attentive but not overbearing, food was tasty. Two knocks, I got the 3-2-1 special bacon French toast and an egg, with a side of the potatoes and it cost 11.45 seems high. Also the food was good but not particularly flavorful.

This was a huge disappointment. Saw this place on Diners, Drive-inns & Dives" and wanted to give it a try. Italian is one of my favorites and hearing that they made hand stuffed Italian sausage on site and Guy raving about the flavors it was a must visit. The place is quite run down and in need of general upkeep but the staff was welcoming. Came on a Sunday after church at 1pm to be told they only service breakfast on Sundays. Not a big issue but a little bit of a let down. After seated it took our waitress 10 minutes to get back to us as she was to busy chatting with the other servers sitting around a table as there were only a few other people eating. Ordered their "garbage breakfast" (basically their version of a potato casserole) with a side of the Italian sausage i was so looking forward to. After waiting 17 minutes to get our food the first thing I see is a large thick black hair in my food as soon as she puts the plate down. She seemed surprised when I stopped her and asked her to take it back, with only a pathetic "sorry." Waiting for it to be remade tried the sausage that was very bland and quite dry. 10 minutes later I final got my remade food with a resentful look from the waitress as it was dropped on the table. With a little bit of surprise after the experience so far it was actually quite tasty and full of flavor. If I was to rate them on just that item i would give them 3.5 stars for the food. I then had to ask anther waitress for the bill as our waitress was sitting down chatting again. We received no apology for the food issue or the poor service nor even a attempt to see if we had a good experience. Paid the bill and left. I would hope this isn't an experience anyone else would share but I doubt doubt I will ever venture back here again.
