Review Via Farina - Omaha

My friend and I dined here a few weeks ago it was overall a good place. The pizza’s are pretty big, our server had suggested to get 2, but we ended up taking half of each pizza home. My friend got Pepperoni and I tried one of their specialty pizzas. I did not like mine much, it was cooked well and the crust was delicious, but I didn’t care for the sauce and toppings. The pepperoni pizza was good though, if I ever go here again I may just play it safe and do pepperoni. We got one cocktail to share which tasted good. Our server was great, she was attentive and very nice. Just a great person all around!

Went here on a date in early July and loved the vibe. It's a nice place without being pretentious. The espresso martini had a delightful hint of citrus. The fried cauliflower was delectable...I'm glad that it wasn't battered and the arugula was a complementary addition to the plate. We found pizzas that suited both of our dietary restrictions (one of us vegan) and tastes. The crust was a true winner. Our server, Gabe, was friendly, funny, and helpful. Overall, if you come here you'll find creative and modern takes on Italian classics.

Warm and inviting vibe, super cool atmosphere. The food is insanely good, and there are lots of options. The pane al forno was so slay love ripping apart bread and dipping in stuff and eating it. The pasta was delectable. The artichokes were scrumptious. Can’t go wrong with a menu choice really!!

I've been here a number of times. I give it a 5 because I'm returning and it must be for some reason. The setting is very open. I love the patio with the garage door. Their prices are moderately high for their serving sizes. This is a higher end dining experience. Service has always been excellent so far. No complaints for that. Pro tip: ask for the calamari extra crispy. It goes to a 5 star item with the one spicy sauce. Their pastas have been a mix for me. Some days prepared better than others. When done well it's a 5 star but I'm still looking for that consistency. They have a very nice pizza oven. The first time I went there they accidentally served me the wrong pizza. It was the best mistake ever. It was a deep fried pizza and absolutely delicious. I asked for them to do it tonight, they said they were going to but I don't think we got one that way. I did not push for it though since I was in a rush tonight, but I will be hopefully going back and confirming it's a 5 star item. Parking is available on the street. It is free. I'm not sure if there is another place to park but usually I have not had too much difficultly getting a spot near there.

Super cute and hip restaurant perfect for our date night. They offer a great list of wines, cocktails, pizza and pasta. We had aperol spritzes and some pastas. Pasta noodles are made in house which was really fun to try. They’re a bit al dente which we liked. We had the rigatoni which was great. We also had the genovese (fusili with braised beef) which was full of flavor although we wished it had a bit more meat. We will definitely be back!

This is our go-to spot in Omaha! Perfect for a date night, happy hour, or even casual family dining with the kids. The service and kitchen staff are great and we have our favorite dishes from their simple yet delicious menu. Shaved Brussels, pane Al Forno, and any of the pizza and pasta. The fried cauliflower and calamari are also wonderful! Always pairs well with their cocktails or a glass of wine. Bottom line: one of our family’s favorites!

Nice enough place with good music. I came here because an associate has been here before and really wanted their pasta. I personally hate pasta and or anything Italian food. However, I did try a taste from their order of egg yolk raviolo and the sauce was good. I still hate pasta noodles (my problem, not theirs). I ordered the sourdough ciabatt (the butter mua), bianco pizza added smoked prosciutto and a coffee old fashion (something like that). All were very good.

I’m a kinda mad at myself for not giving this place a try sooner. I had first heard about this place about a month ago and added it to my list of places to try. Well, Saturday night I got that chance. Went with a couple of buddies and got immediate seating at the bar since all the tables were taken (popular place, probably best to make a reservation) however, that was fine with us. We were the only ones at the bar, the way they have it decorated looks cool, and the staff was very helpful the whole time we were there. The bartender made a fantastic old fashioned and was very good with drink recommendations after that. The food was amazing, cooked to perfection, excellently presented, and full of great flavor. This is a great place to go for date night or if you just want to enjoy a tasty Italian meal. I will definitely be returning again in the future.

Great place to eat. Sugar snap peas appetizers were awesome! Can’t wait to come back and try the cauliflower. I had pizza and daughter had rigatoni and it was phenomenal. Ask for Carrielle as your server, just fantastic! Outdoor seating as well.

This place is great. One of the best pizzas I think I've had. Make sure you stop by for a glass of wine and a delicious pie.

Wonderful food and wine! Had the Pane Al Forno with olive oil and reduced sherry for dipping then followed with margherita pizza, so good! Busy, so we dined bar top, still great experience and atmosphere

The food, atmosphere, and staff were all excellent at Via Farina. I sat at the Chefs bar and was very welcome by those preping and cooking all the food. The recommendations were excellent. The Pizza was fantastic and feelnyou can not go wrong with any option. Great menu selections and the pastas dishes coming through the pass looked amazing and consistent! The only downside I saw was the Cannoli filling was either not cold enough or was too thin and did not hold in the shell! Excellent!!! Highly recommend!

Absolutely excellent. I arrived around 5 on Saturday evening and quickly got seated at the bar. Just a note they seem to be very popular and reported that their reservations were full for the evening for table top seating. So make sure to make a reservation for a table vs. bar. The bartenders were all attentive and happy to make suggestions. I got Arancini for an appetizer, the Egg Yolk Raviolo as a meal, and Tiramisu for dessert. Everything was delicious. The tiramisu wasn’t my favorite but it certainly didn’t take away from how good everything else was!

Best Italian restaurant available in Omaha. Incredible vibes. All food we had was excellent; arancini appetizer, carbonara pizza, Napoli pizza and ended with an affogato. I had a good rose and my husband got the ciao Bella cocktail which he loved. We sat at the bar since we arrived close to peak dinner time and the service was excellent and everyone who helped us was super friendly. Already planning to go back.

If you like real good napolitana style pizza , with thin crust and puffy edge its your place, very good pizza. Their chicken liver pate is surprisingly well made if you a liver lover lol. Dont miss out their homemade Limoncello. We had a very kind waitress her name Sarah. Very friendly .Highly recommended place

Great little place, very intimate and right next door to the theater. They had a nice but limited menu. We tried 2 of the pastas, which were both good but that pizza was the superstar!! The best sourdough pizza ever with lots of options!

Definitely not a place to take two hungry older kids. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza, and two sodas for the kids (which were brought to us in cocktail glasses and cost $3 each)...get our pizza, good thing I wasn’t hungry, because there wasn’t enough pizza to feed the three of us. I would have been better off going to the grocery store and buying two Jack’s frozen pizzas. The money I spent would have gone a lot further had we just gone to Zio’s, their pizza is untouchable compared to the pizza the kids ate at this restaurant.

We sat at the bar and watched one of their chefs make pasta for almost an hour. Before we tried the pasta we had their fried cauliflower (fantastic), calamari (to die for), and the brussels salad (too salty). After a few hand crafted drinks we got a pizza and the crab pasta dish. Honestly the best pasta I've ever tasted. You can tell is was hand made with no preservatives, and the hour worth of work that we witnessed was well worth the taste!

Amazing ambiance and even more amazing food! Delicious. Top 10 in Omaha. My mouth is watering thinking about when I get to go back. We dined during restaurant week and were able to try some features not on the typical menu- Brussel sprout salad, egg yolk ravioli and Caprino Pizza were ! Price point for quality and taste of food is right on. So excited to have this restaurant in Omaha. Will be recommending to all!

Our party kept ordering dish after dish after dish...just shows how fantastic the menu is! Food, service and venue was superb. Delicious!

Via Farina has been on my "must try" list for sometime and it did not disappoint. We tried a variety of items and each were stellar. They also were making pasta while we were there and it was fascinating to watch them - the time and care definitely shine through in each dish. The staff was friendly and funny. We will be back...often.

Terrible experience!! Here is the letter I wrote to the owners the night of our dinner. The response was "we will look into this". Over a week later...still no response! I figured the public should know "critters" baked into their food is not that concerning for their management or owners. Dear Ethan Bondelid and Paul Kulik, I'm writing in regards to our dinner experience on March 18, 2017 in your restaurant Via Farina. I wanted to give you the benefit of a private email message over a public review of your restaurant on Facebook, yelp or any other respective social media site. Firstly, our initial first impression left a little to be desired. After many rave reviews of your restaurant we were more than excited to finally get a reservation. The drinks were slow to come and the prosecco left a warm taste in my mouth as it was left on the table unchilled. The appetizers were delightful, so thank you for that. Once the entrees arrived there was a 25 minute gap between the arrival of the first dishes to the last pizza. There was little effort given by your staff to smooth over the delayed meal. I waited patiently and insisted the others eat their food while it was warm. Honestly, the food we were served was delicious and explains the rave reviews you have received. Unfortunately, when my pizza finally arrived I jumped in and after a full piece of pizza I discovered a dead moth atop the rest of the pizza. We were able to grab the attention of a waiter (as our waiter was less than attentive the entire evening). The manager was sent over, his response was laughable, "I hear we have a critter over here". Really?!? This is an adequate response to a dead moth in your food? He said, "don't worry, we won't charge you for the pizza". We quickly wrapped up and the bill came with the pizza removed from our tab. While I can appreciate the gesture of removing the meal with a bug in it from our bill, I would at least expect an apology. A single apology. This was not delivered. After a quick chat with the manager he removed all the food from our bill. We kindly paid for our drinks. While we waited for the credit card to process the waiter rested his broom/vacuum on our table as we finished our dining experience. Like I said, I wanted to write a private message to you instead of airing this publicly. As a young entrepreneur like yourselves I can appreciate constructive criticism as I build a business. I think you have great potential and really wish you the best but I suggest you seriously reconsider your wait staff and management. I would hate for the word about your restaurant to be anything but delicious and enjoyable.

They are testing their pizza delivery system. So I ordered the free pizza. OMG! What a great pizza! Seriously I just got a $10 pizza, which I would have gladly paid at least $12 for. Best pizza I have had in Omaha in ages. West O, eat your heart out, because I can, in the near future, get this pizza delivered to me! This is going to make winter so much more bearable.

The pizza was phenomenal! The char on the crust was perfect. I'm all about the cheese and it did not disappoint. I was also very happy to see a nice beer list. Loved the atmosphere and our service was top notch. We will for sure be back!!

I was totally disappointed after hearing nothing but great reviews from a friend. Both of my pizzas were overcooked, with little sauce if any or topping. I should have realized when I ordered the lemon tart to go, it wouldn't be any better than the pizza. After one bite of the lemon tart I threw it away and for the leftover pizza, my 4 dogs wouldn't even eat the crust.

I wish it hadn't taken me so long to go here! Absolutely wonderful experience all around- Alex was amazing, food was scrumptious and ambience was right on. The roasted cauliflower appetizer won me over- I could've eaten it all by myself. As a family we tried 3 different pasta dishes- all yummy but the Tajamiren (?) crab dish was our fave. Pizza was perfect- crust was nice and thin just like we like it. And to end it all on a great note an apple tartlet . We'll be going here much more often!

Absolutely delightful experience tonight! The menu options were inviting, I wanted everything. The burrata was everything it should be. The pasta you can tell was homemade and better than mom's. The pizza crust was so unique you know they're artisans who have mastered their craft. Will certainly be returning if we're ever near Omaha. (Out of towners)

We LOVED Via Farina and will be back soon. The staff, atmosphere and prices were great and that pizza crust is unreal.

Erin is the bomb! (Does anyone say that anymore?) Well, nonetheless, she was friendly and attentive and great representative of via farina. The fried cauliflower was a perfect balance of flavors. The gemelli was smooth, ever so slightly sweet (that's a good thing) and delicious! Wine? Thank You for a lovely evening.

Picked up 3 pizzas on my way home from work yesterday for a ladies' night with friends. We had the Fungo, the Salsicca and Bianco. All were fantastic, but the Bianco was everyone's favorite. Will definitely be trying others as well as the pasta. Friendly service and easy to use online ordering as well as great food made this experience excellent!
