Johnny's Italian Steakhouse

This was one of the best steakhouses I have been too. Even without a reservation they seated us, it was our anniversary and they made it very special. Christian, our waiter was fantastic. Our food came out on time, hot and utterly delicious. The calamari, best I have ever had. This was a special evening and even the manager would check on us. The prices are in line with fine dining, don't expect regular fast food prices, this food is quality and cooked to perfection. My only complaint, I live 600 miles away. But I will be back through and this will be one of my stops.

My fiance and I ordered online for takeout on New Year's Eve. We showed up five minutes prior to our pick up time 5:15 pm. He went in and had to wait a couple of minutes for someone to come out from back. He gave his name, the gentleman provided the bill and said the ordered was being boxed up. We left a 12% tip on the TAKE OUT order and drove off. About 10 minutes later the restaurant called to tell us they gave us the wrong order. the poor guy struggled to ask us to return to get the correct one. Not entirely home yet we turned around. When we got back there, a young gentleman came out and handed us our order and asked that we check it to make sure it was right. When we asked if he had checked he indicated he just brings it out. We opened up a couple to check and were good to go. We drove off. About 5 minutes later we get a call from the restaurant again. A different gentleman than before asking if we returned the two filet's- the incorrect order that was given to us. We said no, the gentleman never asked for it. He then asked if we could bring it back. Now, this is a bit disturbing as the food, although untouched, has been in our vehicle for 30 minutes and THEY don't know we haven't touched it. And again, no apology for the inconvenience, the error or anything. We did not go back to return the food and it's doubtful we'll order from them again.

Our server was really good. I ordered the cedar plank salmon which was very good and the house dressing was really good. My husband ordered the ribeye which was about a 1/4 inch thick and had no grill marks on it. He finally decided to return it for the porterhouse which was thicker but did not have any grill marks on it so the flavor was not as good as it could have been. Not sure if we will go back. The chef needs to learn how to properly cook a good steak.

Visited Johnny's with my husband for date night. Atmosphere was perfect-quiet, low-key, and private booth area. We ordered drinks, appetizers, steaks, and dessert. Our waitress Kristen was friendly and very nice. Food arrived in a timely manner. Everything was really good except for the steak. Both mine and my husband's steak was undercooked. I ordered a medium-well steak but it was definitely rare, while he ordered medium-rare and his still had a raw section. Didn't say anything as everything else was pretty fabulous and I really don't mind a rare steak. Will definitely be back at some point to give it another shot. The horseradish butter crust on the steak will be worth it.

I eat at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse whenever I’m in Olathe for business. The food is fantastic and the staff are top notch. Michelle is a fantastic bartender who makes every guest feel special. Bruce is a great addition to the management staff and he takes time to talk with guests to ensure everything is going well with their dining experience. If you’re looking for some of the best steaks and Italian food in Olathe, you need to try Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse. Great food plus great staff equals a memorable dining experience.
