Best Chinese (Chinese American) food in the south end of Louisville, by far.I remember eating here with my parents decades ago, and recently, in my seemingly never ending quest for decent Chinese food in the south end, I went back. Oh boy am I glad I did! JACKPOT!
The spicy food is spicy, the savory food is savory. Nothing I've had so far is just sweet. I've had the spicy wontons (Which the wife declared are maybe the best wontons she's ever had, anywhere!), the pot stickers (which are not the meh frozen pieces of ....), Mongolian Beef (It's spicy and I mean HOT!), the pork lo mien, mu shoo (Yes, they still have mu shoo!) and egg rolls. Everything has been good to excellent. The only Chinese place I know of that can beat China Garden right now is Sichuan Garden in Plainview. In the south end!? No competition! I intend to return again and again!Call in orders are handled well, the interior is quiet and dim with TVs you can watch if you wish while dinning in. The only fault with the layout I can pick out would be the long rather narrow hallway leading in. Two big ole Americans walking down that path side by side would be a tight fit.
Of all the things we've tried on two visits, the following issues were the only sort of negative comments we could make. The "to go" Mu Shoo had no plum sauce. But it was still tasty. The Hot & Sour soup is...Unusual. No bamboo shoots, no lotus root, no mushrooms that I could see. Mostly it was just cabbage, onions and ....Chicken!? The soup itself was quite spicy and very sour. So, I'm going to give it a thumbs up for tasting good, but a thumbs down for being odd.
All that said, want Chinese, somewhere around Preston & Outer Loop? THIS is the place to go! This is the one!
The staff is courteous and the food is excellent. Especially try their orange dipping sauce for the superior egg rolls. The inside restaurant is small and cosy. Carry out service is quick and accurate with the food being packaged well for secure carrying. Prices are fair, diner prices are higher than lunch. Egg drop soup and Wonton soup are amazing.
One of my favorite places. Whether I go over to eat the hot and sour or egg drop soup or have dinner I always enjoy my visits...I have become friends with the owners and very good friends with one of the employees (tell Kim connie says hi when you visit)!!!
I discovered them 9 years ago and make it a point to go often and when I am sick they are the go-to place to get soup when I can eat. Love it...will not quit it!
It's hady looking but the price and food were decent
China Garden is the bees knees. I ahev been eating at China GArden since I was 5 years old, over 30 years now. I have always liked their food and have always loved the service.
Their fried wontons and egg rolls are the best ever.
Best Chinese in town. My husband first took me over to China Garden about 10 years ago and we make it a point to return at least once a month. China Garden has -the-best Hot and Sour soup. Their food and prices are superior to other choices in town, including the more expensive options in the east-end. Make the trip to try this place! You will not be disappointed.
Great Food and Value. Hot and Sour Soup is Louisville's best!!! Eggrolls are outstanding and value is good too. Try ordering the dinners for two,three... B2 is great!!!
The 2nd Best in Louisville. You must try this chinese restaurant. It is only second to PF Chang's. They serve traditional chinese-american dishes with the best ingredents. I have been eating there for almost 30 years and have never been disappointed. The new ownership has kept the same quality.

This is by far the best Chinese I have had in Louisville. The crab Rangoon is the best I have ever had anywhere! The general chicken is the best I have ever had anywhere! The egg rolls are the best in Louisville! I will be back...a lot!
The food was really good. Dinner for 2 under 40 with drinks. Portions were good too. Plenty of seating also. Good place to eat, will return soon.
Food is wonderful.i have been going for 20 years. Service not always pleasant by a female who is there but we dont go for her hospitality.
We ordered a few meals and did a Buffett style. Their food was amazing!!! First time eating here, will order again!!
This place is amazing! Has great price and food portions to match. You know how other restaurants like this have small chunk of chicken or beef? Not here, they are large compared to the other places. Been here twice and always good. Sorry but I was hungry, here's a pic! I always get 2 entries so don't judge the price by me lol.
