Clean, well lighted facility.
Friendly, helpful staff -- very encouraging and kind. Eager to answer questions.
Try the banh mi, and be certain to try one of the moon cakes. (Oh, and the coconut pie. And the flan. And . . . well, you get the picture.)
MAJOR THUMBS UP!
Great food, great deal!. This place is awesome. The baguette sandwiches are cheap and delicious. At $2.50 per sub, you can't lose. Their wonton soup is to die for.
Very small, limited selection. But their pork loaf stuff is great!! My first experience. Had no clue what it was - thought it was a pastry. Bit into it - it was pork! Super good, and the woman at the counter was very friendly.
Great Banh Mi. The the reviewer below, Donna, you are supposed to go to the counter to place an order. You missed out on some great food, but next time you will know. I usually get the Banh Mi Xa Xiu and it never disappoints. Awesome spot for lunch or to grab a couple of banh mi for later.
Amazing banh mi. Per the review earlier they don't usually come to your table, I usually just stand up at the register and make my order; which is not uncommon at a little bakery like this. Have you had Lee's? Lang's bread is 10x better to me because it's softer.. Lee's always irritates the roof of my mouth. Of course Lang's doesn't have the selection they do but I choose them because of the bread every time. Last time I was there you need to bring cash though because they don't accept credit. You can also get all kinds of tasty little pastries here too.
i was attracted to the vibe of this shopping area due to the mural in the parking lot. i am originally from california and took for granted while living in cali the diversity of the state where you can have really good food from all parts of asia while living in the state. then i lived in other parts of the usa for half a decade where asian food was severely lacking or nearly nonexistant other than americanized chinese food. due to this reason i realized i love my culture and also appreciate asian culture of various different countries moreso than i realized before. last week i noticed this place and wanted to try it so i kept a mental note to revisit and i did today. the noodle dish i had included dumplings and chinese style pork. the menu was written in vietnamese. i was not sure if this is a vietnamese place or a vietnamese version of a taiwanese place. the broth of my noodle soup was somewhat sweet and made it quite interesting hinted slightly of pho but wasnt pho. it was an interesting dish but i am confused about the origins of the soup. it will surely be interesting for many others and enjoyable but i did notice the portion left me hungry afterwards so i ordered a sandwich to go. the number 4 banh mi was truly satiating, of good portion and quite tasty. if i rate the banh mi alone it would be 5 stars. the portion of the noodle soup that i felt was somewhat basic in quality aside from the interesting broth would be rated about 3.5 stars out of 5. the noodle soup and the banh mi came out to $18. noodle soup was $11 on the menu and the banh mi was $5.50 on the menu. this is a place worth trying as it is a mom and pop location that carries a very distinct down to earth vibe. it will be a good experience for those in the area that want to try something new and escape to a far away exotic land in asia momentarilly albeit in culinary experience during your brief lunch. they only take cash or venmo or zelle. no cards, no checks and no apple pay.
If you want the best wonton soup in the okc area. I personally order the wonton soup with the BBQ pork. They cook the noodles well and the wontons are the best tasting in the city.
Heads up they only take cash/Venmo
It's not pho but it's really magnificent, definitely a hidden gem in the Asian district. I would not have known if it wasn't for my friends taking me here.
$10
Con:
Once your order is brought out, you'll never see anyone again unless you walk up to the counter for something (including refills on water). This is typical for many Vietnamese restaurants nationwide though, so it doesn't really effect the review.
Pros:
I've been eating here for over 15 years, and my 2 go to dishes is Banh Canh and Banh Hoi. Banh canh is just very simple, a very home-made nostalgic taste. Banh Hoi is easy to make and you can't go wrong with it. Only downside to the Banh Hoi is that it's not a large serving, so I almost always have to order Banh Mi with it.
Delicious with traditional Vietnamese foods. The kitchen was nice and clean!
Love their in-house Mooncake and will be back soon.
Very good Vietnam food - great owners !
Got the chicken Bahn Mi sandwich and the charbroiled pork rice dish. Both were delicious, but the Bahn Mi stood out as one of the best in the OKC metro. Would definitely come back for it.
Small store but big flavor, love the Bánh mì!
The BEST banh mi Vietnamese sandwiches in OKC hands down! I eat a lot of Vietnamese food because I live near the Asian district and this place gets the classic sandwich so right. The bread is toasted and the portion of meat is generous. It's cash only. The almond cookies are also quite good. Chewy and flavorful.
Lang's Banh Mi have the best combination of crunchy baguette crust, soft interior, and meat & veggie fillings in town. The price is great at $3 for a Banh Mi that is bigger than most. Their Vietnamese main courses and their cakes & other desserts look great too. The staff is always fast & very friendly!
