What a GEM! Cobia bites YUMMY! for an appetizer, Wagyu burger & potatoes, DELICIOUS! Fresh local shrimp with Jasmine Rice, veggies, FABULOUS! Side order of fresh baked rolls, TASTY!

You must go to the back porch café. Went this evening got there by 5 , no wait! The food was outstanding and the service impeccable. I had the grouper special with field peas and a cheesy grit cake!!! Phenomenal …. I had to rest in between just so I could finish, but it was so good I HAD to finish it! My husband had the strip special and his was just as good! Home made, Parker house rolls were delightful! Wish I had had room for dessert because it sounded amazing! But seriously, go there for the excellent food and excellent service. You won’t be disappointed.

Had one of the best seafood meals and that is saying much from a New Englander. Absolutely loved the pecan crusted black drum!!!! The drinks were good too as well as the service and atmosphere. This place is a gem and a welcome change from the over priced garbage we got in Kitty Hawk/Killdevil.

One of the best meals me and my party have ever had!!! Several appetizers to include figs, goat cheese, walnuts and honey; shrimp empanadas, scallops and crab beignets! Drinks and entrees all fabulous! Please don’t miss out on the Sticky toffee pudding

Food here is phenomenal! Willing to wait an hour for a table in 100 degree weather, and sit outside for their food! Service was great, drinks were well made, overall excellent!! Look forward to next season so I can go back!!

We haven't been on OI for a vacation in seven years. It's nice to see that some things have remained the same and that includes The Back Porch Restaurant as our favorite place to eat on the island. From appetizers to entrees to dessert, everything was excellent. Thank you, Julian, for a wonderful evening. We appreciate your kindness and suggestions for making our meals memorable from start to finish.

LarderRoom...The Back Porch is open and the fresh fish is blackened Drum with a sweet lemon white sauce! Delicious! Also tried the ribeye and the pasta special. I know what you're thinking, Pasta. Yep. It was that good!

Excellent food, Excellent service. The hostess was friendly and efficient, the waitress was very helpful with the descriptions of the food and great suggestions from the “Interesting Reds” wine list. The seafood was hot and well spiced. The bacon wrapped scallops were excellent, plenty for the tree of us, and the Parker rolls mopped up the sauce- yummy. I had the Sheepshead fish (for the first time) with a light, buttery sauce. The Vietnamese lemon sauce on the Spanish Mackerel (my husband’s dish) was perfectly cooked d we it’s just enough heat. The Poke bowl was an excellent choice for our nephew. We had the yummy mint chocolate chip ice cream to finish the meal. The portions were quite large and we have lunch for tomorrow.

Our waitress was amazing- best service ever. We got a poke bowl and the red pepper Parmesan pasta. Fettuccini Alfredo is my favorite meal ever and this was a GREAT twist. Great atmosphere and great drinks!

Really great place for dinner. Fresh ingredients and great flavors. We had calamari, pan seared scallops, and the Tuna that was on special. We sat on the "back porch" amd it was lovely. Service was friendly and quick! I personally can't wait to go back.
