High Plains Pizza

We stayed there overnight about a week ago. The sites were big and well maintained. We were really looking forward to being able to hang out by the pool, but it was closed because of recent storms. I'd accidentally double booked myself (and believe I was given a refund for one of the bookings last year when I made it). They had me as being at two sites and I was confused, but no big deal. The new owner/manager was in the middle of being very accommodating, when some crotchety old lady started barking at me about clicking a button for no refunds when I booked. She asked who I talked to A YEAR AGO, and told me that I wouldn't be getting a refund (which I didn't ask about and may have already gotten anyway). She disappeared as suddenly as she came, and the new owner apologized. She told me thank you for not letting the Facebook reviews sway me and let me pick one of the two spots I'd booked. She was very friendly and amicable. If the reviews make you feel like you'd rather drive another hour or so, I'd totally understand. The older lady that threatens nearly every person that leaves a bad review is a bit much. But, the people that are running things there now seem to be very interested in rebuilding the campground's reputation. They are good people and deserve the chance. You should give them a chance too.

I will never stay at your location if it was the last place on earth. The owner keep treating anyone with lawsuit if you had a bad experience. You should try to fix it not bully your customers and if the customers are wrong you should try to explain to them in a nice way. I have traveled on every state in USA and I never experience anything like this. No thank. Update: Google never removed my previous comment, I removed them to have a better explanation of what happened. In your website you do not had any information that during your summer time any reservation made will not be refundable. Once you made the order before changing out you see your small check box that indicates that the reservation are not refundable. Please be clear of that in you website in the future.

Easy to find when traveling on the 83. Clean and lots of room in each lot. Grounds kept very tidy with no dog messes to be seen. Bonus was the beer and pizza available right in the office/bar/restaurant. Owners say they are retiring so I can't say how it will be with the new owner but we would stay here again.

Safe convenient clean, we stayed one night to Denver one night way back. My wife and I were intimidated by the rules. "No smoking, smoke in your RV or Car, and No open flames" We decided we could not cook with our propane grill, we could not sit outside with our propane fire pit like 99% of other parks with fire bans. We could not find the Pub that people talked about. Over all nice place for a overnighter.

I had a nice stay here. Utilities work well. Sites are level. Wifi is not blazing fast, but definitely sufficient. I couldn't get the cable TV to work. Price was reasonable. Owners are friendly. There is some freeway noise and some burrs on the ground. Looks like they had more shade trees at one point, but many are cut down. Location is convenient--just don't trust GPS if it wants to take you downtown. This place is right off the freeway.
