Oakland Bagel And Pastry

So you're looking forward to enjoying a great bagel at home exactly the way you like it. You order 2 bagels, and off you go to enjoy your breakfast. While you may anticipate what you think will be in the bag, you instead find these mutants. Is there no trust among bagel bakers to make all their bagels equally stunning? P.S. They do taste great though!

So disappointed! After coming here for over 15 years, I came in on a weekday when only one other customer was in the store and already been helped to get breakfast for work. I thought I was thankful that the owner was helping me. I asked for 6 donuts and 6 bagels sliced (most folks don't eat a whole bagel at work and we don't have a bread knife in an office). The owner said "We don't slice bagels." I asked him to repeat himself and he did. In dismay, I simply turned around and left and went to another bagel store down the street who without complaint sliced the bagels. This wasn't a matter of being busy but just being unkind and unhelpful. Will never go back there again.

I ordered a plain bagel with sundried tomato cream cheese & when I opened it up I found plain cream cheese with pieces of sundried tomato on the bottom half of my bagel, they were not even mixed in and my bagel wasn’t cut in half all the way. It’s the little details that make a difference. Taking a couple of extra seconds to make something right. Very frustrating when prices are so high to begin with.

The quality of the food is good. They have bagels, pastries and cakes but often run out because they do not make a large quantity which makes no sense since they are a pastry shop. Customer service is mediocre and orders are constantly getting messed up, both mine and others. In my opinion convenience is the only thing keeping them going.

Lived in town a long time. Stores come& go.This is a staple here. My daughter is 47 and still wants a birthday cake from there. They have amazing tea biscuits ,but they sell out fast. Just grabbed 2 today & made my husband a happy man. Bagels are chewy outside,soft inside. Also,I love the Elephant Ear pastries. My guilty pleasure😊
