Sang Nguyen Restaurant

This place was in a perfect location near the 12th and Broadway BART station. Living in SF, it makes it easy to come here in the future, hopefully with friends lol. I also had 2 orders of the fries...so good!!! Servers were kind and friendly and will patiently answer your questions if any regarding the menu.

The previous menu (before they re-opened in the fall of 2021) was so much better. Still a great spot! I miss their fried hen-of-the-wood sandwich, the burger, the mac, the mashed potatoes. High-quality comfort food. Bring those back! At least they still have the bread pudding…. Though, I have yet to try it to know if it’s the same or not. Great food.

So thrilled to be able to head back into Mockingbird for dinner. Those fried Brussels Sprouts are still off he chain. The hanger steak with bagna cauda and a radish salad was literally one of the best meals I’ve had. Every dish is both beautiful and delicious and the staff are warm and helpful. The owner, Melissa and her team powered through the pandemic…thank god.

Food was okay. I came here for restaurant week and got the fried Brussels sprouts, Risotto Verde and the Bread pudding. The risotto was a touch bland and needed more Parmesan (which was good quality cheese). The bread pudding was close to being great but the caramel was over salted and slightly burnt unfortunately. For the portion and price, I’ve had tastier. The service from my waitress was mid-range as well.
