It was a great little hole in the wall, creative cafe. It’s filled with books to purchase, to read and enjoy. The spot has a great vibe and entertainment. It’s a cozy spot that has a kind of weird layout but it does the job.
I was a bit disappointed with the coffee I ordered. I asked for a cold brew which was mostly ice and when I asked for cream the container was dirty. Like old coffee on top and sticky dirty.

Beers, books, some board games, live music. Overall a pretty chill place. Bartender (errr cashier?) was super nice! Variety of events (see photos) and some really good live music (Cyrus Gengras was awesome). Low key on a Tuesday.

A great place to enjoy live music. The home made ice cream is also excellent!

Cozy spot with a sweet vibe, decent beer selection, nice little menu, and friendly people. The layout is slightly awkward for live performances, and maybe a little boisterous for the book-worm at night, but totally worth checking out. Hope to hit one of their monthly song-writing workshops soon.

Went here to see a couple of A Capella groups perform and I was impressed by this venue. The vibe was really upbeat with everyone working together so we could all fit and have a comfortable spot. I only tried the beer here which was excellent but the food smelled great. The literary selection was very choice and the entire evening was a fun experience.

I decided to check out The Octopus Literary Salon because I've been spending a lot of time in Oakland this summer. I've had an abundance of waiting time, so I've been finding ways to fill my time. I was first taken by the name. My interest was peaked so we checked it out for lunch in my bday. Great ambiance and I hear they host a lot of cool events, unfortunately, on the day we went, service was lousy. They made several errors on our order and then seemed super put out when we asked for the correct food. Sadly, when we got the food it was so covered in mayo, the sandwiches were not edible. Trust me, we tried! The salad dressing was good, though. And I think if you have the foresight to ask for easy mayo, you'll be okay! Maybe it was just a bad day, but sadly, first impressions last a long time.

Quiet and cozy cafe with free Wifi. I loved being surrounded by all the books while I worked from my laptop. The menu has ice cream, sandwiches, hummus plates and salads. I also saw they have open mic nights so I would return for that.

I went for my friends book release party. It is a really nice place if you are a book work but dont want to be quiet in a library. The food looked good too, even though I didnt eat any. If I was hungry I would order something.
