The Athletic Club Oakland

So I went to this restaurant on Sunday for brunch and they played 90s music and had a very great vibe. There was a “mimosa” special and my friends and I got a pitcher for 25$. I order the dry jerk wings and while the outside was seasoned the inside of the chicken was a bit bland. Someone said the same about the ribs and hash-browns. But if you’re looking for some where to hang out with friends and listen to great music I’d recommend this place for sure!

Went for the first time to watch a game. It was OK. Maybe on a non game day the service might be different. I didn't like the limited interaction with the server and then you are forced to use a app to order then you are charged a fee for using it. That didn't sit well with me. The food was decent.

Considering there’s so few spots left in Oakland to watch Warriors games, I’m super disappointed at the experience here now. They’ve changed how they manage game days and don’t allow table reservations unless you’re a group of 6 or more. They’re also the only place around charging a cover fee, but only offering standing room only. It’s disorganized and chaotic, servers all seem annoyed, staff are generally rude with all the guests and blame ‘the crowd’ for everything. Because of all this, the vibe is now super lame - outside tables full of folks who were just chatting with friends and inside you barely have a view of TVs. People were kinda standing around smushed together, without even being able to pay attention to the game or cheering. Just seems like a cash grab from fans, but they also hate having you there. We got up and left after 1st quarter and went to local bar that was way more chill and fun folks to be around. Sad to say, but I’ll never go back here to watch a Dubs game ever again.

This place is a vibe! Man the drinks are so so, they don’t pour heavy, the drinks could be better! The food is good, but this place is super expensive, but if you want to have fun with friends or you trying to look for some eye candy! This is a place to go sit up drink and kick back, especially during sports games….

The peach mimosa was delicious, just the right blend. Shared the chicken and waffle with a friend. It had 2 pieces of chicken and we halved the waffle, very tasty. Loved the candied pecans and honey butter. Service was attentive until we wanted our check, then a bit slow to get us our check. But an overall good experience.
