Review Yia Yia's Sandwhich Shop - Oakland

No frills Diner that serves simple yet delicious meals. Perfect for a quick meal if you have early train out of Jack London Square Station. It is run by small family and semi self service. Food is prepared fresh and I didn't have to wait long even though there's only one person tending the cash register and preparing the food. Highly recommended.

This restaurant is owned by perhaps the nicest and friendliest folks around! Classic American fare that is always well prepared and quick. They also have some good Korean food too, like Bibimbap. Great breakfasts too. Love this place!

These guys are THE BEST. Call ahead and put in a to-go order for the train ride, or arrive a little early and eat in their old-school dining area. It's not fancy, but they make a solid Denver omlet, etc, and they're happy to make your breakfast to order. And just really good people. Oh, they also have a limited Korean menu too, which is pretty great.

Funky little "cafe" in an older building, next to a delicious smelling smoked meat producer. Lots of seating in the back, straightforward menu and very friendly service. Orders are fairly quick, and menu has some variety. Crinkle-cut fries are nothing special, soups are so-so, and the sandwiches are pretty good. Size is on the small side, but prices are appropriately matched. If you go in understanding what this place is (not gourmet) you'll like it.

Yes, the ambiance is so-so but the food is great. I go with the spicy pork every time. Its quick, inexpensive and delicious. The owners are very friendly people as well!

No frills food, but hits the mark for the price... Friendly, feels like 1980's Oakland without the threat of death... Possibly the less cool business in Jack London.

A whole greater than the sum of its parts. No frilly food. No self-conscious, self-absorbed hipster vibe. A working man's joint. Good place to grab some quick lunch grub for the train. I'm a fan of their crab sandwich..

Great hole in the wall for breakfast or lunch, bigger than it looks on the outside. Good food reasonable prices nice crew. Burgers, sandwiches, pasta, etc.. check the specials board.
