Hanging out in Oakland. Stopped in to have a drink.. Ending up having dinner and drinks.. Food was excellent.. had the Restaurant week menu and the fish and grits.. This was an awesome selection, every thing was perfect. The best part of of the meal was the service. The Bartender Ricardo. Was awesome he made a couple of drink selection and food recommendations. We were also served by Lamont. They returned to ensure everything was perfect. To top off an awesome experience the owner (David) stopped by to so see how we were doing and share his experience with his family and restaurant experience. This is a small place that you will most likely walk by. I will suggest if you are ever in the area stop in the food, service and experience is excellent Thanks David and Ricardo and Lamont for an awesome experience.

First time in this restaurant. I had just returned from the city and was walking home when I passed the Hutch Bar & Kitchen. One of the chef's was standing outside. They had just opened for the day. We struck up a conversation and i decided to go in and check out the menu. Turns out the original Chef/Owner was from my home town of Memphis. Out of loyalty to my roots I said "WTF" and ordered a drink and a meal. To say it was amazing would be a colossal understatement. The service was warm and inviting and the food was delicious. The bill was reasonable so I left a sizable tip.

Booked the restaurant for our holiday staff party. Owners went above and beyond with the menu selection consisting of soup, winter salad, beef short ribs, chicken curry, vegetarian pasta AND eggplant with humus vegan options AND bourbon bread pudding for dessert. Staff was exceptional. Bar selection is amazing!

First, a disclaimer: one of my dearest friends works here. If you've been here on a weekend, you probably have been greeted by her. She's the sweetest person in the world. But anyway, this isn't a review about her. This is a review about Hutch, which is wonderful. The ambience is so spot on. Start with a drink (I chose one with moonshine, which I sipped the entire night) and choose a couple appetizers, which are only $5 and the portions are SO GENEROUS. We went with a large group so I basically go to try everything on the relatively small menu. I personally ordered the kale salad since I was so full from the appetizers, but I tried everything and I have to say the shrimp and grits were great but the winner was the veal. Hands down won the evening for best dish. All I can say is GO GO GO!
