Looks like a run down place but the food was excellent... Try the Mixed Meat Combo... Can't go wrong... Some if everything...
I found a really delicious BBQ restaurant. If you're on your way to the North Shore, you should definitely stop by this house.
This is because you can taste barbecue grilled directly on charcoal. I was satisfied with the amount of food, the barbecue ribs were seasoned very deliciously, and the pork ribs in particular were appetizing as they were easy to eat with your fingers. You can also enjoy a variety of Korean food. The kimchi was especially delicious, and the kimchi fried rice and kimchi stew were by far the best.
Great Korean BBQ and they cook everything to order... including the grilled meats on a special charcoal grill out in front of the restaurant, so be patient! The owners are great to chat with while they prepare your meal!
SUPER friendly staff that happily reserved a party of 11 people for my after-wedding ceremony! This was our first time visiting Hawaii and was looking for a casual place to eat near Kualoa Ranch after my wedding so we tried a few restaurants first to decide where to take our group. We decided on Hauula BBQ because we were blown away by their fantastic meals for its flavor and portion size from a quick stop-in a few days prior to my wedding. But also importantly, we felt very welcomed and accommodated! Pretty impressive they let us reserve for my group of 11 given their tiny space but they know how to keep the big crowds happy! Thank you so much!!!
Absolutely fantastic food. Decided to order the barbecue chicken and it was amazing! As you approach the restaurant, you smell the charcoal outside in the grill, cooking the food. The chicken had a great taste with a nice charcoal grilled aftertaste. Would definitely recommend coming here if you’re looking for a great meal!
Just discovered the new Hau'ula BBQ. Well, I actually ate at this establishment 20 years ago - just once, cause I never went back. But I recently heard the restaurant was under new ownership and I decided to give the new guys a chance.
While I've only tried the chicken plate, so far, I can report that the portioning was huge. The chicken, cooked outside, over traditional natural charcoal, was done perfectly - moist & tender. But it was the serving size that was especially impressive. I couldn't eat it all - and that's a first for me.
I expect the new owner/operators of this small boutique restaurant, found in the heart of downtown Hau'ula, will be challenged to keep up to demand, once the locals try this community's newest eatery.
New Management, so a lot has changed. Sweet and kind Korean couple serving up delicious food. Tip: Come before or after pick hours, so to enjoy dining in and the wait for your order is shortened 😉😋
A hidden gem with fantastic food! The owners were extremely friendly and ensured that we were well taken care of during our visit. The portions were huge as well! Take a chance and just stop in and grab a bite! It is well worth the time :-)
I had the chicken and shrimp which was absolutely amazing. Very nice char grilled flavor. The workers are also very friendly. A must stop for delicious BBQ!
Food is delicious. We got the chicken katsu (has a different name on the menu) & BiBimbap.
Chicken is crispy & tender, veggies are fresh, kimchi is flavorful.
The restaurant is very clean. They have K-pop playing in the background.
The lady at the counter is super nice. I felt like ohana. Can’t wait to come back.
So good. Took a little while to cook but it was fresh of the outside grill. The chicken was really good. The short ribs were tasty as well but chicken was the winner for me. Worth stopping at.
