Wood Bakery

I finally got back out to the STL Donut Tour this weekend and stopped in to Wood Bakery. What a great shop! They have such amazing looking cakes and cookies and desserts with a giant wall filled with so many styles of Donuts to try! They have different specialty styles depending on which day you come in and I got the last Salted Caramel Long John today - so good! This place has some of the best cake donuts I've had on the tour this season! Definitely stop in here if you like cake donuts and custard filled donuts!

These are some of the BEST pastries I have ever had in my LIFE. Do not sleep on this little shop!!! 🗣️ If you're in the area, you have to go here. Every single pastry was soft, light, perfect flavor profile, not too sweet, not at all artificial tasting. I had never had soft tea cookies before I came here. They had a nutty but simplistic flavor profile that felt nostalgic! The original glazed donuts were amazing, I could eat them every single day and not get tired of them. The long johns were great, I regretted not buying more than I did! I also got a piece of delicious and remarkable cheesecake and a lovely strawberry danish that was both beautiful and delicious as well. I actually genuinely enjoyed every single item and will definitely be back!! 🥰🫶🏽 But next time, I'm buying WAY more stuff.

I absolutely hate to not give them five stars. Woods bakery is a staple in this town and I have been coming here since i’ve been alive. It is an amazing, old school bakery loaded with delicious classics. BUT we just ordered a cheese cake from them… It doesn’t have a graham cracker crust. Which was crazy to me coming from a classic bakery. At first glance i thought it was yellow cake, but it wasn’t sweet. It literally tastes like bread?? The actual filling was very dense and when cut into it was not smooth, it was chunky. I really hope they consider switching up the recipe for this item because it does not reflect everything else in their store.

Staff is friendly but wow 😱 way way too much sugar and I love sweets but no. Donuts and donut holes tasted like I poured a bag of sugar in my mouth also have a rubbery outer shell with harder and fluff. I wanted to like it but next time Getting st Patrick day ☘️ treats we will go to a different bakery.
