El Tio Pepe

Our first tune back to El Tio Pete in probably 15 years and derivative glad we did. We were worried when we pulled up and the parking was absolutely packed. No spots anywhere. We called the couple we were meeting and they said that it was usually that way on Friday night. We finally found a spot, went in and was told it was a 30 minute wait. That was right on and well worth the wait. Food was great and received plenty, service was excellent and beer was cold. We will definitely be back soon !!! Highly recommend !!!

I have been here several times and I am consistently pleased with the food and service. They use fresh ingredients and the flavors are consistent each time I visit. We heard that they were allowing inside dining again so a few friends and I went by. Unfortunately, they closed the dining room again due to COVID. However, they were more than accommodating. The staff suggested a taco and margarita tailgate experience. We took them up and it was really great!

Well it looks like they had no covid restrictions once so ever. People were packed like a can of sardines. I was getting a pick up order so I was waiting inside, and I only seen 2 groups come in with masks. I got the fajitas and they just threw it all together and it was bland. The meat had little char dots on it and the chicken and steak were just small peels instead of thick slices like other mexican places I've been. It was watery too due to having tomatoes and not red peppers and the shrimp was only with a distinct taste of shrimp which was disappointing. It honestly is probably the worst "authentic" Mexican restaurant I've been to in the area. I highly do not recommend.

This neighborhood favorite has friendly staff, tasteful and bright decor, and delicious food. I had the Nopales (stir fried cactus with chorizo served with tortillas and the extra eggs) and can't recommend it highly enough. It's my new favorite Mexican dish! The bar is also extensive, if that's your draw, but even the ice tea I drank was good and not watered down.
