Delicious food, very creative menu options especially in the tapas! Loved the stuffed calimari. Great beet salad and chicken with pasta and cherry tomatoes. Lovely outdoor dining! Good wine by the glass but could use more choices as I could never drink an entire bottle. Highly recommended!

Visited the new location in Westport today. It is beautiful. Had several tapas: chorizo casserole, roasted olives, octopus, gnocchi, eggplant croquettes. All were delicious. They now offer pizza as well. We can't wait to go back.

Westport-consider yourself lucky as a piece of heaven has moved into your town. Basso is the best restaurant in Connecticut hands down. All their food is prepared meticulously with the freshest ingredients. Always innovative special tapas on the menu but my favorite choices are the mussels fra diavolo, the gnocchi and the chicken scarpiello. Wonderfully diverse wine list and desserts to die for. I am always blown away when I come here and the ambiance of the restaurant is so warm and inviting that you’ll never want to leave. Kudos to the owner Renato as he puts his heart and soul into this restaurant and is backed by a wonderful team of people giving you a first class dining experience- perfection.

I got the spicy donor because I love a little kick in my dishes and this was perfect! The regular donor is their obvious best seller but if you want a little bit of heat make sure to get that spicy!

mediterranean food and the setting here is above par. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The prices are fair for the quality of food. I can see why they have so many reviews.

Had dinner there last night. Staff are great, and they are not all about turning tables, they want you to enjoy, take your time and experience the entire restaurant. The short rib was outstanding, evidence in the photo. My wife had the sea bass special which was also lovely. Just a great place. One minor niggle, just one bathroom...so time your trip to the loo carefully.
