If you like fish then you’ll love Joe’s Fish in North Reading. Delicious food, especially the Lobster dishes. Great clam chowder! Our server was so attentive and helpful.
I also really enjoyed the nautical theme around the restaurant.

First time here and loved it! Food was amazing! I had the oysters. The best part is, that they were half off in price on Tuesday!! For a drink I got fin juice. I believe it had rum and vodka in it!! Soooo good! I’ll be coming back

I don't know if he is the manager, but really RUDE . Maybe I wasn't dress appropriate but I have enough money to buy a meal there. Probably RACIST.

Great food, it was prepared almost to perfection. Amazing taste, an a very nice gastronomic experience. Great reception when I arrived, very helpful de person at the reception.
The minus, and is a huge one, was the server a quite bad experience.
I would go again, if I knew I will not be served by the same person.
If it wasn't for the amazing food the review would have been 1 or 2 stars.

Service was great and prompt. Any of the wait staff that happened by the table refilled our drinks regardless if they were ours or not. The food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

The appetizers took awhile- calamari and crab dip. The crab dip didn't have a lot of crabmeat but the fried pita chips it came with were really good. My daughter got the popcorn shrimp with fries and my husband got the steak tips and shrimp, both very good. I got the traditional steamed lobster. The skinny margarita was good. Overall, everything was decent but hardly worth the 20 minute drive.

uh, well.
I was not happy with my meal. I ordered the steak frites ($28) and the seasonal vegetables (5). What I was unhappy about, was that for $28, they give just 4 decent sized chunks of steak.
When the waitress came to check on me, I decided to be honest about this. The waitress brought the manager out.
I said, "this feels very skimpy to me for $28. It makes me feel stupid for not picking the longhorn." I made a shape with my hands to illustrate the amount of steak the Longhorn gives for less or the same amount of money.
Now, the manager could have argued that I ordered steak frites, not a rib eye or t bone or porterhouse. He could have argued that "this isn't the longhorn." That his recipe is better than the Longhorn's. He could have responded in a "defend self then offend me" way. Instead, he just took it, reasoned that the "cost of running a restaurant is hard right now". And he took the price of the vegetables and $10 of the steak frites off of my bill.
I ended up shelling out full price any way, but the profit went to the waitress.
Any way, for that kind of response, this restaurant deserves a perfect score. I could compare it to the way a manager at Applebee's once responded to a justified complaint of mine. I REALLY appreciate this manager's response. I find it very rare, for someone to respond to a justified and truthful argument, with acceptance and respect the way this manager did. Not just from restaurant managers but from the general population.
The food was delicious. I cleaned my plate, aside from some scraps. The vegetables, fries, and steak. The service was excellent. Unfortunately, you probably won't find me in this restaurant. I work too hard for my money to be spending the same price for that much less steak. But, if you are in a more comfortable financial situation than I am, then I encourage you to support your local businesses and eat at this place. Get yourself TWO steak frites plates so that you have enough of this delicious steak and plenty of tasty fries. And if their service is consistent, they will attend to you in a timely manner. Something that a lot of restaurants fail to do.

Went to Joe Fish tonight, June 4 2022. Ordered a calamari appetizer. Told male waiter it was very dark brown and had a burnt taste. He took a white rectangular plate from our table which was filled pretty well with burnt calamari. He said he would get us another serving which was very nice of him. He returned very quickly with a smaller black plate with less calimari on it and it was obvious to my husband and I that he basically took off some of the burnt calimari and some golden calimari. There was still some burnt ones in the black plate but not as many as before. He basically gave us a smaller plate with SOME new calimari rings. The tentacles were still burnt. Again, a much smaller plate. He asked us how it was and we replied “fine”. We didn’t want to complain again but we did know he definitely pulled a fast one with the appetizer. Nice guy but sneaky. He came back so quickly with the black plate and there both dark and golden pieces. How could this be if they were a new batch. I cook calimari myself and know the difference. We will not go back here again. Again, we didn’t want to complain as he tried to make it right. It was a smaller portion of the same junk. Shame on him really for a 17.00 appetizer.
Unhappy Susan and her husband.
