The atmosphere is definitely warm and cozy and the food was delicious.

Great place to stop for a quick bite. Server is always nice, and the food is phenomenal. I recommend the rice noodle soup with the lemon pork. Great selection of spirits.

I don’t go out very much and am picky about where I will go. If I’m giving a rating and leaving a comment it’s because either it was trash, you messed up bad or it was actually more than outstanding. This place is a beautiful little hole in the wall along the back country crossroads of Rhode Island. It’s extremely clean and welcoming and something about it makes you want to be there. They serve comfort food and also provide a comfortable atmosphere. I’m going back twice in a row for the house chili. Exceptional employees, each one knows how to interact with you as if they’ve known you forever and on top of it all. The food is quite noticeably better quality than most places that have 4 and 5 star google ratings and I’m sure the cooks also help in providing the genuinely comforting and delicious food. Back 40's food menu is unique enough to keep us coming back - it's not just your typical pub stuff. One of my favorite burgers in the state. Plenty of seating - we've never had to wait even during peak times. Always a great beer selection, too.

What a great place this is. Last minute on Saturday night. Place is busy but got seated quickly. Staff was friendly and responsive. Food was really good and fairly priced. Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Definitely going back to this place.

First time visiting, went for a birthday party. Food was served buffet style, nice assortment. I thought the country themed vibe definitely fits the area, the Mac & cheese and chicken Parm were very good. The bathroom was clean and the drinks were fantastic. Live music was also a nice touch. Haven't really been out much post pandemic, felt like it was 2019 all over again.

I’ve been ten+ times and never disappointed. I went to celestial cafe down the road in Exeter to order takeout. Weird- closed. Called B40 ordered sandwich and salad. Said 20-25 min. Drove there- it’s only about 5 minutes up the road, order is already waiting!

The fish tacos with mango salsa was delicious and will definitely be going back again. My husband had a spicy chicken sandwich with fries. We also had a glass of their hard apple cider which was also great! We had terrific, very pleasant waitress!

We chose Back Forty to host our rehearsal dinner, and we're very grateful. It was shockingly difficult finding a restaurant to host us – we had a lot of places tell us they couldn’t work with what we had in mind, and a lot of places who were willing but would have charged us a massive venue fee (it would have been like paying for a 2nd wedding!). Back Forty was extremely flexible on all the specifics we had in mind, and the staff there the night-of were attentive and accommodating.
Thank you very much for hosting us, and creating the exact evening we’d hoped for. Everything was perfect, and let us start off our wedding weekend with an awesome memory.
Also, it's completely wheelchair accessible via a large ramp in the back. We really appreciated that.

Went in for the nachos and a beer. Nachos were excellent 👌. Fast and friendly service. Diverse menu. Good beer selection. Also a good Whisky selection. I will be back.
