Shanghai Buffet

When it comes to Chinese Buffet there are 3 major types. This is one of those small places that offer a limited selection, no sushi, a small salad bar, 2 soups and about 15 major choices... I am surprised of how hot the hot and sour soup is... I like a good heat when it says hot! Temperature and spicy... I love trying the different flavors that make up this version on Moo Goo... It is probably one of my favorites ever. I would come for take out just for this. I have been here before and will come back as the other buffet in town is take out only. Small but authentic.

Pretty disappointed overall. Restaurant was dirty and cluttered, not a whole lot of variety at the buffet, and what little they did have was almost empty. The low mein had a really off putting smell to it so I did not eat it. The buffet layout was horrible. It made no sense and felt cramped. Customers basically tripping over each other to get their food. Even the soda was flat. On the up side it was cheap. $13 for all you can eat. But then again you get what you pay for. I won't be returning anytime soon.

Well it didn't suck. I like to eat at locally owned restaurants. Inside it didn't seem like they cared what their customers saw. Part of the buffett was used for storage...right next to the food. Supplies stacked in the dining room. Waitress seemed uneasy of the yelling of some lady in the kitchen. BTW, Waitress was very nice. I came in at 4:30. Food looked dried out. The chicken on the stick was like beef Jerky. 8 year old son said this is not good. Most of the food was barely warm. Soon after they refilled the buffett. I was hoping for fresh hot food. It was fresh but it was barely warm again. How's that happen? Would that pass with the health inspector? I've lived in Nixa for 3 years and noticed their lot was usually empty. Now I know why. To many options in town to try this one again.

Great price for the buffet. Was $21.50 for 2 adults...they refresh the food fairly often. Small buffet but has plenty of options. They got really busy before we arrived and they need a few more people to work but the 2 ladies we met where very nice and friendly. We plan to return for the awesome shrimp and mushrooms!!

The food is awful. $4 to get 6 tiny, SOGGY spring rolls. And I mean mushy and falling out both ends soggy, gross, and disappointing. Such a waste of money. I think the people are nice, just remember to use cash since using a card costs 3% extra. Edit- given the "owner's" response that they serve "floor specials" for "extra grit" I take back what I said about the people being nice. That's rude, unprofessional, and ridiculous.

Love the place food is awesome. The buffet stays stocked most the time. Great service decent price. I like the blond Asian server that served our table. She was awesome and I wouldn't mind getting to know her better overall fabulous way to enjoy the evening eating out with your family to make it even funner add bowling or tracks and putt putt golf with pictures and you got a great night out. Kids will love it.
